This kettle bell has a nice comfortable vinyl handle. The vinyl coating does a good job of protecting the body. The bottom is also shaped well so it is not likely to slip or mar floors. The handle is wide enough to allow for balance and ease of use, with less likelihood of slipping. Some cheaper kettle bells are made of concrete instead of cast iron, making them overly large and more awkward. This one is the right size, and even though it's only 10 lbs, it still has enough bottom surface for proper balance.
A cheaper bell might save you $10, but in the scheme of things, it's not worth saving a few dollars only to find that you want to buy something like this one later.
