I purchased a colibri lighter a while back. It worked ok for the first day. After that it almost never lit. I was very disappointed and bought an original Zippo. I fell in love with it. However, eventually I got sick of tasting the Zippo lighting fluid when I smoked cigars, so I began searching for a higher quality butane lighter. I finally ran across the Zippo Blu. Saw it has a lifetime warranty and figured it was worth a try. The Zippo Blu works wonderfully. Lights anything very quickly with a very consistent flame. Also has a window on the side to view the amount of butane in its tank. On a side note to those who say the lighter wont light, make sure the screw used to replace the flint is fully tightened. If it isn't the butane will not release when you press down on the wheel, making it very difficult to light.

Cons: No way to adjust the height of the flame. If the butane level in the window is below half, the butane will RARELY light. The butane runs out fairly quickly, but based on other reviews, this is common among butane lighters.

I admit that I read a ton of bad reviews of the Zippo Blu lighters online. I figured at a good price and with Zippo's lifetime warranty it was worth a shot. My last lighter was a more expensive Colibri, which failed after about 2 years. I am extremely pleased with this lighter. It lights every time I use it. Many complaints about the Zippo Blu that I read online said it only lights about 1 out of every 3-6 tries, especially when new. Here's a tip: Make sure you actually see the butane in the window on the side. I filled according to directions initially, but couldn't see the butane in there, and it would only light about 1 out of 5 tries. Then I refilled it until I could see the butane in the window, and it lights every single time. Also make sure you use Zippo butane or you will void the warranty.Customer Review: Modern Classic

Finally, a butane version of the tried and true Zippo. What every good Scout should have. When I was a kid, we had a Swiss Army Knife, Maglite, & Zippo (the fluid type). It was a different world back then. No microwaves, personal computers, internet, fuel injection, crack cocaine, or AIDS. Cars had Holley 4 barrel carbs & glass packs. The President's brother sold us Billy Beer. Mr. Furley got all the ladies. And Fonzie beat Mork from Ork with his thumb.
Just imagine how much easier it would be to start a campfire with one of these.

When I first learned that Zippo mad a butane lighter I was very excited.
Every butane lighter I ever owned never lasted or performed well.
After I received the Zippo Blu I was very pleased. Best lighter I ever owned. I would recomend this lighter to anyone.

Because I lost mine Zippo when I was on holiday and I wanted a new one I ordered one again, the service was amazing, got it in les than 5 days (shipped to the Netherlands), even the price was less than the other one. I'am very pleased with this one, works fine.
