I really love these goggles. Ski'd last weekend at Okemo in various light conditions, from full sun to snow. The optics are really sharp at all levels. I did receive the goggles shown. The lenses are the new "extreme low light" version, and almost look clear out of the box. (same light transmission as the more expensive SPPX, but flat instead of spherical). Nice Rose Brown in full sun. The Black at $79 is a real great deal. Can't do better than these at this price. Also, some reviewers mentioned the lack of the hard case. The goggles come in a square plastic case that is easy to open and close. I believe this is what is meant in the description as "recycled case". While I believe it's mis-leading, I am actually using the packing case to store.

Optics-wise, the Detonator PPX is equipped with a photochromatic and polarized goggle lens. The photochromatic layering allows the lens to actually change from dark to light depending on the ambient light. On cloudy, low-visibility days, the lens is tinted yellow, but as the conditions get brighter, the lens adjusts to a high-contrast rose color. Overall, the light transmission adjusts from 13 to 43 percent, so you don't need to change lenses or eyewear in the middle of the day. Finally, the lens includes an anti-glare polarized design that reduces eyestrain while blocking 100 percent of the sun's harmful UVA, UVB, and UVC rays.
