I received this mat on time and in the correct color. I needed a thicker mat, and like everyone else, I was on a quest to find a stickier mat. I read lots of reviews for several different mats on Amazon. It seemed that every new mat needed washing and multiple uses to become less sticky, so I decided to try this less expensive mat first before investing in a more expensive mat. When I opened the packaging, there was a very slight smell that I would not have even noticed had I not read reviews about the new smell. I washed the mat in the washing machine and removed it before the spin cycle. It was very wet and took days to dry. During my first two uses of the mat, it was more slippery that I would have liked. But on the third use, it was perfectly sticky much to my surprise. I did not move at all unless I wanted to. I practice Astanga and get sweaty. Though it is too soon to appreciate how durable this mat is, I am very pleased with the stickiness and thickness especially for the price. We bought a pair of these mats for use with P90X Extreme Home Fitness Workout Program - 13 DVDs, Nutrition Guide, Exercise Planner, in particular Ab Ripper X, Yoga X, and Plyometrics. They've worked perfectly.
These mats are extra long, so more of your body can be on the mat. They're very thick with dense cushioning, which is great for your wrists during tough Yoga moves and back during ab moves. They're durable and will clearly last a long time. The grip is great without being too tacky, so you don't feel like your hands are sliding during downward dog.
We don't have the Manduka BlackMatPRO 71-Inch Yoga and Pilates Mat to compare this mat to (the Manduka mat is the "price is no object" Rolls Royce of Yoga mats), but given the immense price difference, this mat will do for us.

I bought this mat because my "regular" mat just didn't have enough cushioning for the concrete floor at yoga class. My knees hurt terribly on many poses and even doubling my mat didn't seem to be a great solution. (It was bulky, clumsy and still not very comfy.)
This mat is about twice as thick as a "normal" mat. That's a big difference to my knees! Plus, I think it helps with comfort in most poses. It seems easier to do balances on this mat. (It's also easier to do balances on grass or carpet for me--my feet like soft, cushy surfaces.)
I shopped around online and in area stores and this mat is not only reasonably priced, but it's the best price I could find for a thick mat.
If you are finding yoga hurts when you put weight on your knees, sit bones, palms, or whatever body part, try this mat.

Yoga Accessories claims that this mat is one of the thickest mats available in the market and that got me really excited. I am very thin and regular yoga mats really hurt my spine and knees because they don't offer enough support and I get bruises. To my surprise this mat was as thick and supportive as they said and my back and knees are now bruise free! I can enjoy my yoga practice so much more because I am no longer worried about the pain I am in.
I am also very happy with this mat because it is not slippery at all. This brings ease to my mind as well because I am not concerned with falling flat on my belly while in downward dog. I can hold that position and find inner peace and relaxation which is what I was looking for in a yoga mat.
This mat has it all for me and I love it!

This is my first 72 inch mat, and I love it. I am one of those guys who holds onto his mat until it is falling apart, and I have worn out quite a few! For all of you whose faces wind up on the floor because your mat is too short, do yourselves a favor and invest in this mat. Not only is it long enough to be comfortable, but it is also very thick and soft; it feels great on the knees. As with all new mats, it has that new smell of course, but this one it not so bad and should pass in a day or so. Regardless of what mat you buy, for those of you who are sensitive to the smell of a new mat, just unroll it and let it set out in the sun for a while to help fade the smell. This one is really a great price, and I am sure you will enjoy yours as much as I do mine.
