Customer Review: Great tool, but only one complaint

I have used the Caltrac off and on for many years. It is a great tool as long as you're honest about what you enter for calories in. Because human nature makes us tend to underestimate the calories in those few little nibbles or the size of our portions, I have found an effective technique to be that I routinely enter more calories into it than what the packages say. For example, if the package says my organic bean burrito has 300 calories, I enter 350. By always entering more calories, it acts as insurance in case I forget to enter the calories in the 3 jelly beans I swiped from the bowl on the secretary's desk.
It's a great motivator that can prompt you to walk instead of ride to the corner store, or to forgo the late night snack when you can see how many calories you haven't burned yet. And considering that it is recommended by most sources that one should lose weight gradually, it helps you stay the course. Even when the scale isn't giving you positive feedback, you can feel a sense of accomplishment seeing the number of calories burned exceeds the number of calories consumed.
My only complaint is that the clip that holds it on your pants invariably breaks after awhile. That's why I have 4 of these that still work fine, but which I can't wear anymore. Fortunately, the price has become so reasonable that it's not too painful to replace it, just inconvenient.
