Description of WeeRide Kangaroo Child Bike Seat

Product Description The WeeRide Kangaroo Center Mounted Child Carrier offers an award-winning design that allows children to enjoy and share in the cycling experience, surrounded by your protective pair of arms. Your child is not behind you uninterested and distanced by the limited view. The child?s position also keeps the center of gravity where it belongs ? on the bicycle frame, not behind the rider. This all adds up to a more comfortable ride for the cyclist AND the passenger. The Child Carrier is mounted on an independent adjustable steel support bar that attaches firmly between the frame?s head tube and the seat post. The support bar is designed to mount on almost any bicycle. Customer contact information at 1-800-451-KENT (5368) or www.kentbicycles.com -- Safety Information - Always wear a helmet, knee and elbow pads when riding. Check all nuts and bolts for tightness before riding. For casual riding on smooth, flat, paved and dry surfaces free of sand , gravel or dirt. Do not ride at night or in areas of traffic. For children up to 40lbs, "If you need straps in a different size please call us at Kent International and we will have them shipped to you right away."
The WeeRide Kangaroo center-mounted bike seat offers an award-winning design that makes biking with your child much safer and much more fun. It's installed onto virtually any bicycle via a patent pending, independent steel support bar that attaches between the front handle bar tube and the seat post. It provides a much more enjoyable and interactive experience for the child and rider. Your child's needs can be heard, seen and attended to more easily, and he or she has a more interesting view--no more staring at someone's back. Other advantages include no dangling arms or legs to reach wheels and the rear of the bike is free to carry your gear.

The seat is made from an injection-molded plastic form, and it features a comfortable padded foam seat, height adjustable foot cups, and a fully adjustable three-point security harness. The Padded pedestal armrest sitting atop the handlebars gives children somewhere comfortable to put their hands, and can serve as a headrest for the napping toddler.

The steel support bar is an independent support system that does not interfere with brake cables or other attached bicycle gear. It includes different sizes of plastic spacers for the front yoke attachment and rear seat post to protect the posts and ensure it fits on almost any recreational bicycle available. It's easily removable for when you want to ride on your own.

It can be used with mountain/city bikes with upright handlebars (with drop-handled racing handlebars, the rider leans forward too much for the child to sit comfortably). Children should be at least 1 year old, and it has a maximum weight capacity of 40 pounds. This bike seat is designed for casual riding on smooth, flat, paved and dry surfaces free of sand, gravel or dirt.

Sports reviews of WeeRide Kangaroo Child Bike Seat

Customer Review: She loves it!
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

We bought this seat for our 2-1/2 year old girl. My husband was very skeptical, because it seems so small. She is small for her age, and she'll probably only be in it for another 6-8 months. But it was great! Very stable. She LOVED it! We took it to Moab and rode some jeep roads there. My husband felt very secure with here there (rather than off the back). I think the balance is much better than rear seats. You do have to ride a bit bow-legged, and you have to throw a leg over the back of the saddle to get off. Other than that. It was perfect. Yes - she wore a helmet just like everyone else.

Customer Review: Just great but ideal for smaller children
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

This bike seat is perfect. My child sits right in front of me and I feel much safer this way. It is very well attached to the bike. Assembly is not easy but it is not that complicated. Once it is ready you just have to screw the chair in and go for a ride. Once done, you easily take it out and keep the rest attached to the bike. Price is great and delivery was exceptional. The only thing is that I believe that with a, say, 1 1/2 old child you will have a little less leg room to cycle. But my child is only 10 months old so I cant speak to that effect. A very good buy for sure. Lots of fun!

Customer Review: Great buy for the price!

The support bar assembly was easy enough and fit my GT mountain bike fine. Once that is on the addition or removal of the WeeRide seat is extremely quick; just a few turns of the screw. My 15 month old son loves the mid-mount position and visibility. I enjoy the ability to speak and listen to him and anticipate shifts in balance. My knees do need to accommodate the width of the WR seat, but not to any pedaling detriment. I highly recommend this product.WeeRide Kangaroo Child Bike Seat

Customer Review: Wee Ride Together!
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

Very simple and easy to install. My husband had it on and ready to go without a lot of complaining. It's sturdy and well built and we love that the child rides in the front.

Our son is about 2-1/2, so he's not going to be using this that much longer--he's not that heavy, but he's getting a little too tall for it already (the space for the feet are only so big). Wish we got it months ago. He has so much fun on it and gets all excited when Daddy says "Let's go for a bike ride!" I would highly recommend getting this for a younger child to really get some use out of it.

Customer Review: Fantastic product . . .
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

Picked this up when my daughter was about eighteen months and am still using it about a year and a half later. For many reasons it's better to have your child in front than in back (better sightlines, easier communication, etc.) You may need to alter your riding style slightly to accomodate more room between the knees, and your crotch does absorb a bit more pressure. Just wear some padding for long rides, and you should be fine. This has possibly been the best recreational purchase we've made for our daughter, and I'll be sad when she's too big for her WeeRide.
