It's installed onto virtually any bicycle via a patent pending, independent steel support bar that attaches between the front handle bar tube and the seat post. It provides a much more enjoyable and interactive experience for the child and rider. Your child's needs can be heard, seen and attended to more easily, and he or she has a more interesting view--no more staring at someone's back. Other advantages include no dangling arms or legs to reach wheels and the rear of the bike is free to carry your gear. The seat is made from an injection-molded plastic form, and it features a comfortable padded foam seat, height adjustable foot cups, and a fully adjustable three-point security harness. The Padded pedestal armrest sitting atop the handlebars gives children somewhere comfortable to put their hands, and can serve as a headrest for the napping toddler. The steel support bar is an independent support system that does not interfere with brake cables or other attached bicycle gear. It includes different sizes of plastic spacers for the front yoke attachment and rear seat post to protect the posts and ensure it fits on almost any recreational bicycle available. It's easily removable for when you want to ride on your own. It can be used with mountain/city bikes with upright handlebars (with drop-handled racing handlebars, the rider leans forward too much for the child to sit comfortably). Children should be at least 1 year old, and it has a maximum weight capacity of 40 pounds. This bike seat is designed for casual riding on smooth, flat, paved and dry surfaces free of sand, gravel or dirt.
Sports reviews of WeeRide Kangaroo Child Bike SeatCustomer Review: Way better and safer than a trailer. Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I have owned a wee ride for about 4 years. It is awesome! It holds upto about a 2½-3 year old. Here is why I love it:
1) much more versitile than a bulky trailer. Trailers weigh a lot and have a wide wheelbase.
2) SAFETY. Your child is directly in front of you at all times. What if you got hit by a car or lost control? what chance does your toddler have in a trailer? In an emergency, you can easily shield the child with your own body.
3) communication. Have you tried talking to a child in a trailer? with the wee ride, your head is about 6 inches from the child's head.
4) quality. thick plastic seat, sturdy support bar. the few reviewers that say that it doesn't fit on their bike either have a totally odd bike or are simply doing something wrong. This will fit your bike. it attaches to the seat post and the handlebar post.
I have 3 kids. 2,4,6. I can honestly say that some of my fondest memories of their childhood so far is our rides on the bike. What a fantastic bonding and learning experience that the wee ride provides.
When I take my 2&4 year old out I use the weeride and the trailer. The weeride + child adds little weight/effort to the bike. However, Wee ride + trailer + 2 children + 2 hour bike ride is a workout. I lost 30 pounds 3 years ago thanks to this set up.
Anyway...get the weeride. you will not regret it.

WeeRide Kangaroo Child Bike Seat
i did a lot of research on this seat, i went to 2 bike stores and they both told me it sounded like a poor design. My son is 2 3/4 yr. old and weighs mabe 33-34 pounds and is on the taller side for his age. i'm 5'2" and put this seat on a womens 26" mt. bike. I suppose u have to have your knees splayed slightly to accomadate for the seat positioning, however i really don't notice at all. not uncomfortable. slightly more difficult to go up hill, i wouldn't try biking up a mt. with this seat but little hills are ok. my son can sit up straight, but prefers to lean forward and hold on to the front thing. once he fell asleep on it. that i guesse was an issue. very uncomfortable for me, his head was rested on the front, but kept sliding to one side so i had to kind of support his head on the front part while trying to ride and that stunk! but really, i just don't let him go to sleep on it anymore, but the communication is excellent, he looooves it. i loooove it. i get a lot of compliments. i'm so happy i didn't get the one that goes in back. the seat belt is a little chinsey, but i made it work with some safety pins and peices of fabric i found :). not a huge deal.hmm... over all experience, totally awesome. oh yeah, and my balance is vertually perfect, can ride with one hand easy.
Customer Review: Best Front child seat for 1-3 years old Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I have studied several front seats, tried a few. From my opinion this one is the best of all. There are several reasons:
1. it is safe: the kind of cusion on the front helps protect the child in case of emergency stop, also provides a nice area to rest (mine sometimes naps on it).
2. it does not prvent you from properly cycling. This is somehow suprising, as I initially expected to have to cycle differently because of the position of the foot rests between my knees, but it is not really different than cycling alone, I got used to it within a few minutes. It is important to keep a comfortable cycling position because you need more power and more control when carrying a child than when cycling alone.
3. it improves the total balance of the bike, especially when you have another child on the rear rack. This is due to the distribution of weight: cycling with a child in on a rear seat removes weight from the font wheel, and puts more on the back wheel, which reduces the stability of the bike. But if you add a seat (any kind of seat actually) in the front, you put back some weight on the front wheel, and the stability is significantly improved. So even if you have to carry only one child, having him or her on a front seat is better.
Customer Review: Great Product, Great Price, Get out and create memories with your child Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I've owned this product for approximately 1 year now and I am completely satisfied with it. I began using it with my son when he was 18 months (24 lbs). He is now 36 months (~30 lbs) and we are still having a great time. Once mastered, the assembly only takes about 2-3 minutes. I have been using this on my mountain bike, so I usually assemble and disassemble the entire thing several times a month. I feel that the seat is very secure, and have ridden both on and off road with my son. Although not recommended for off road use, I think it is safe enough for the sandy/dirt trails where I live (no rocks, jumps, non-technical).
PROS:
- Spend quality time with my son, and give my wife a break
- My son LOVES the bike time.
- I get a good workout with the added weight of the seat and child, which has actually helped me on those singletrack climbs when I go out mountain biking.
- People will stare at you as you ride by and say very nice things about you, the seat, the child, etc...
CONS:
- Interferes with your knees just a bit when pedaling, but you only have to adjust your legs a few centimeters. This is a small price to pay for the great feeling of taking your child out with you on a beautiful day.
Customer Review: The best bike seat out there! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I'm thrilled with this bike seat, but do have to start out by saying that installation made me want to scream obscenities & throw tools, which is not in my nature. I did manage to get through it all during one of my son's naps, so it wasn't too awful. We had a trailer prior to the Weeride & my son HATED the thing. He never wanted to get in it & only liked the toy steering wheels in it...if the trailer wasn't moving. A seat that goes behind me was out of the question. I would not be able to turn around & see him while riding. I was thrilled to discover the Weeride's existence, while my husband was clinging to the trailer. He changed him mind. My son (21 months) LOVES it & begs to go on bike rides now. He stands at the door saying "bike, helmet, bike, helmet" if you say "bike" out loud. We go for a ride every day (weather permitting) and will continue to until he outgrows it. Oh...and one other thing, expect your bike rides to take longer than planned because people will stop you on the street to tell you how cool it is & ask you where you got it!
Update: Here we are 2 years later, and my son is almost 4 & STILL loving this bike seat! Unfortunately he'll be too big for it next year, but we loved it while it lasted!
