Description of WeeRide Co-Pilot Bike TrailerThe WeeRide Co-Pilot is just the thing for a child who wants to tag along with Mommy or Daddy, but doesn't have the legs for it! Your child can pedal to help you along, or just coast and enjoy the scenery. Either way it's fun for BOTH of you! Sturdy construction construction - just like a regular 20" bicycle with regular handlebars, seat, and pedals. Attaches easily and quickly to almost any bicycle with a seatpost, and folds up for storage when not in use. And it even comes with a safety flag to alert motorists. The Co-Pilot is great for the whole family, nothing says togetherness like a family bike ride ! Customer contact information at 1-800-451-KENT (5368) or www.kentbicycles.com Train a child how to ride a bike without dealing with training wheels with the WeeRide Co-Pilot bike trailer. The Co-Pilot--which attaches quickly and easily to almost any bicycle with a seat post--is just like a regular bike, with handlebars, a seat, and pedals for your youngster.
The Co-Pilot's quick-release system detaches easily from your bike. | However, you have control of the actual ride, including speed, balancing, braking, and steering, while your child tags along. It's a great way to teach basic biking skills and safety without giving up control before he or she is ready. Your son or daughter and pedal to help you along or just coast and enjoy the scenery. The Co-Pilot is equipped with a true quick-release system for quick detachment from the adult bike, along with adjustable handlebars that accommodate children of different heights. In addition, the seat is more comfortable and better built than typical bike trailer seats, so your child will want to keep riding throughout the day. And once you arrive at your destination, the arms fold up easily for compact storage. Other features include an attractive black and silver color scheme, a safety flag and handlebar pad, and a 20-inch wheel size. The Co-Pilot--which holds up to 75 pounds--weighs 24 pounds by itself and is recommended for ages 4 to 9.
Sports reviews of WeeRide Co-Pilot Bike TrailerCustomer Review: Some FUN! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
The WeeRide Co-Pilot Bike Trainer is great! Easy to assemble (the package was REALLY beat up when it arrived, but fortunately, the company sent us a replacement rear reflector - the only damaged part), and very sturdy. It takes a bit of getting used to the slight wobbling at the connection site as you ride and your child shifts weight side to side, but it's obvious that it's NOT going to come apart. Be sure to warn your little rider to HOLD ON TIGHTLY when you are approaching bumps! We have only been able to take the Bike Trainer out once due to bad weather so far this spring, but we will be loading it onto the bike carrier and toting it to the park with us many times this summer, for sure! My daughter says it is helping her get used to going faster, building her confidence for when she practices on her own bike.
Customer Review: High Quality and totally fun WeeRide trailer! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
The WeeRide Co-Pilot is a very clever item. It has high build-quality, welded construction and is packaged flawlessly, so nothing gets damaged. All the pieces fit and it is very simple to put together. You just need an adjustable crescent wrench, a Phillips Head screwdriver, a small socket set and a 6mm metric Hex/Allen head wrench or socket insert (It does not come with one (6mm metric Hex), which was the only disappointment). There are a lot of Hex head screws so YOU HAVE TO HAVE THAT tool. Once it is all together and attached to the main bike, it's very stable. My Daughter's first words when we took off were worth every penny we spent on this item; "Daddy this is awesome! What a blast!" We rode for at least an hour with no mishaps. We highly recommend this WeeRide Co-Pilot!
Customer Review: dollar for dollar, best child tow rider Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
Shopped around for something similar for a few weeks, range from 80 to 600 dollars - decided on the wee rider based on average of prior reviews and ability to return.
Received today, took 20 minutes to set up, followed directions exactly to avoid the problems that many of the negative reviewers had... no concerns.
Took my 3.5 year old daughter for a 6 mile ride up and down hills, over curbs and off and on the sidewalk and street - bike rode great, checked all connections several times, solid as could be with no issues, all the neighbors were impressed, are going to be looking into buying them tonight.
Feel free to spend 400+ on the trek version, I am happy with my 80 ride and my daughter LOVES it. Mom is happy that it is same and secure enough.
Customer Review: Great Idea Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I have a 3 1/2 year old. My husband and I wanted to go on bike rides but we didn't really have a good way to take our son. He is too big for the seat on the back of the bike and he isn't skilled enough nor does he have enough stamina to ride his own bike for a distance. We didn't want to get a pull behind cart because after all bike riding is all about excercising and we wanted our son to be a part of that. We purchased the co-pilot and love it. Our son can pedal when he wants and if he gets tired he can just ride. You have to get used to balancing the bike with the co-pilot because when my son leans it threw me off balance a little in the beginning. It didn't take me long to adapt to it though. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone.
Customer Review: Great, Affordable Tagalong, My Kids Love It. Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
We just ordered our second Co-Pilot, so that each of our kids has one. I have 2 daughters ages 4 and 6. They started riding at age 3. They love the freedom of this "big kids bike" and refuse to get into the pull behind trailer we have. I've seen some negative reviews about kids falling off and safety issues. Of course, if you don't have everything tightened down, or your kid leans too far to one side, they can fall off.(which could happen with any bike) If hooked up and used properly, we haven't had any issues, and we use it daily to and from school, as well as long rides on the bike trail. We love the freedom it gives us as parents to take our kids on long rides. Couldn't imagine spending more for the other brands.
