Train a child how to ride a bike without dealing with training wheels with the WeeRide Co-Pilot bike trailer. The Co-Pilot--which attaches quickly and easily to almost any bicycle with a seat post--is just like a regular bike, with handlebars, a seat, and pedals for your youngster.

The Co-Pilot's quick-release system detaches easily from your bike.
However, you have control of the actual ride, including speed, balancing, braking, and steering, while your child tags along. It's a great way to teach basic biking skills and safety without giving up control before he or she is ready. Your son or daughter and pedal to help you along or just coast and enjoy the scenery.

The Co-Pilot is equipped with a true quick-release system for quick detachment from the adult bike, along with adjustable handlebars that accommodate children of different heights. In addition, the seat is more comfortable and better built than typical bike trailer seats, so your child will want to keep riding throughout the day. And once you arrive at your destination, the arms fold up easily for compact storage. Other features include an attractive black and silver color scheme, a safety flag and handlebar pad, and a 20-inch wheel size. The Co-Pilot--which holds up to 75 pounds--weighs 24 pounds by itself and is recommended for ages 4 to 9.

Sports reviews of WeeRide Co-Pilot Bike Trailer

Customer Review: Working well, minor problem....Very happy customer
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

After reading reviews for this and other more expensive bike trailers, for what seemed like hours, I came across a review for this bike trailer that said something like "stop reading reviews and buy this bike trailer". I realized I could read positive and negative reviews all day and never get my daughter on a bike.

So, I did in fact stop reading reviews and buy this bike trailer. And I am immensely glad I did. All the other bike trailers were twice as expensive (When I bought this it was around $82, and I could not see spending $200 on something that my daughter is only going to use for a year or two until she's got enough stamina to power herself on our family bike rides.

Also, I didn't think it was too much to ask that a functional trailer be available for less than $100 considering the fact that you can buy a bicycle (yes a cheap one, but a functional one) for $50.

It took me about 15 minutes to get this up and running.

The only issue is with the hinge that allows this trailer to fold in half for easy storage and transportation. Something is not working right, and in order for me to fold it I have to use a screw driver or something else to press in the button that allows it to fold (there is a folding hinge type thingy that is supposed to allow this to fold easily and w/out tools, but that is not working properly). All in all this is not a big deal to me personally as I don't fold it to store it, I have it hanging on the ceiling w/a pulley system. Also, if I do need to fold it, I'll just use the screwdriver. I did not want to bother sending back a huge box and waiting for another one. (This is probably the price I pay to have purchased the cheaper one, but hey---for a savings of $100 plus I'll deal.)

I started out towing my little cousin around, and he absolutely loves this thing! My daughter does too, and she is not able to ride a two wheeler on her own...

If anyone needs to know her height I'll be happy let you know..... My cousin was a little too short for it but he managed.

I was a little concerned reading other reviews which commented about the bolts coming loose etc, but after a month of riding and frequent checking, I haven't had to tighten anything since I first set it up. So either they've changed/improved the manufacturing process and/or parts, or the people who had issues did something odd when setting theirs up.

My 4.5-year-old daughter is at the top of the height percentiles, and it's almost too big for her - with the seat dropped all the way down, she can pedal comfortably. The one issue she has once in a while is the positioning of the flag when dismounting - if she forgets about it being there, she swings her leg back and can get caught up in it.

Early on, I ran into two issues, both of which were my fault. The first issue was with the rear gear wheel - I hadn't bothered to tighten it when we received the trailer, and on the first ride out, it got loose and spun itself out to the point where the chain was out to the right by 1/4" or more, causing the chain to rub against the frame. This was an easy fix - I just removed the wheel and tightened the gear wheel and haven't had that problem since. I don't fault the company for this - any bike should always be examined and everything should be tightened down before use.

The second issue I ran into was with the chain guard. As I was familiarizing myself with the trailer, I set it down and the bottom of the chain guard hit the floor with enough force that it got bent upwards and the chain rubbed against it. A little elbow grease and it's back down and out of the way of the chain.

All in all, I (and my daughter) really like the trailer - the folding arm is definitely a plus - I can put it away without it taking too much space.

Customer Review: Great little bike

Ok I would like to say this is a very cool product and my 3 1/2 year old little girl loves it. She is 39 inches and can't reach the pedals when they are all the way down (6 o'clock and 12 o'clock) but she can with pedal blocks, or if they are level (3 o'clock and 9 o'clock) she will just sit and hold on for the ride. There are a couple of things you should know. If you don't know how to work on bikes you might have some problems but if you do you should be good. Some reviews talk about the back wheel locking up this happened to me within the first mile. Here is what I did to fix this problem. Take off the back wheel and remove the axel from the wheels hub you will see the BB's in there these should have a lot of grease but they don't from the factory. Load them up and you will no longer have this problem. You can do the same for the crank set/bottom bracket this will make the pedals turn over easier for your child. As for it leaning well that would be a install problem if you do it right there won't be a leaning problem. One reviewer said it would fall over when turning. You would have to get off the bike and turn it as sharp as you could for this to happen. It is not possible when riding I have tried to make it happen without my child on it of course and could not get it to happen. All in all if you can grease the parts I talked about this is a really good bike. It is very easy to balance and rolls really well, much much easier than a cart.

The way I see it is you are paying less than an Adams brand so for the money you save a little greasing of parts is well worth it.

Customer Review: Stop looking - Buy the Weeride Co-Pilot ! ! !
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I wish I would have bought this bike trailer as soon as I layed my eyes on it. Instead I looked at the negative things said instead of all the positives!
Finally I ordered my WeeRide and a day later it was at my door (thanks amazon)!
Came packed solid. Not one scratch! It took me all of 20 mins to build. And that's quit an acomplishment since I'm lucky to pump gas in a car! LOL But seriously - VERY EASY TO ASSEMBLE. I think I might have glimpsed at the instructions. I didn't really need them other than to make sure I had put it together right for my daughters safety.
Now to the really fun part. My daughter (4) was very apprehensive when first trying out the WeeRide. She did'nt want to ride it at first, but with mommys help holding her up we started to ride. Mom let go and we were off! She wasn't very happy with me or mommy at first and was "freaking" out just a little. Moments later she started getting use to it and then thats when all the "this is fun" sayings started pouring out (I wish I had around $85.00 for everytime she said "this was fun" for I would be able to buy you all one)! Now not only is she wanting to ride everyday, but keeps daddy in shape for the days I'm feeling lazy - "Come on daddy, lets go riding"! :)
I seriously do not have any negative comments on this WeeRide at all. Not one.
Now please do you and all of your family a big favor. Forget the more expensive trailer bikes, stop reading these reviews, buy it and you too can totally enjoy all the "this is fun, this is fun, this is fun"!!!!! Comments too !!!!

Customer Review: Works great, awesome deal!

My husband and I read all the reviews for this product. And though most were favorable, some were not so we did have some concerns. But we decided for the $70 purchase price, it was worth a try.

Delivery came in a very timely manner. My husband put it together with no problems at all.

He has taken our 5 yr old out on it three times and has had no major complications to speak of. Though some of the reviews mention the bike flipping during sharp turns, this is something that is addressed in the safety precautions when you read the manual. In fact, most of the complaints listed in the reviews are directly or indirectly addressed in the safety precautions of the manual (guess some people don't like to read the instructions first!).

For us, the bike has been remarkable stable and safe. Yes, it has "flipped" with my husband, but he read the instructions first and it did not happen with my daughter on it (he was trying to turn the bike around on foot). It attached easy to the seatpost of his road bike and has not moved at all.

My husband did say it was noticibly more weight - the bike weighs about 28 lbs or so. Add a 5 yr old to that and he's looking at pulling an additional 65 - 70 lbs (he enjoys the workout, though). Yeah, there are tandem attachment bikes that weigh far less (Trek makes one) but those retail at probably 3 to 4 times what you will pay for this, a bike you will use 1 to 2 riding seasons.

If you are thinking about trying it, do it. It is a great value! Just read the directions first!
