Works well for light grocery trips. While each basket can hold a considerable amount of weight, navigating an already heavy tandem bicycle with fully loaded baskets can be challenging. Remember to allow for additional clearance when passing obstacles with the baskets opened. This is especially true for long bikes where the baskets are so far behind the pilot. Each basket will hold 1 paper sack or 1 "green" bag. The clip that locks/unlocks the basket in the open/closed position can be a little hard to work if you have weak hands. When traveling over a bumpy surface, the baskets tend to rattle. The folding option comes in real handy when parking the bike in the garage.

The Wald 582 sets the standard for ingenuity when it comes to rear baskets. Mounting to the side of almost any rear rack, this nimble basket is the perfect size for packing 1-2 bags of groceries while balancing your load. When not in use, the base of the basket pivots up allowing the side walls to collapse.
