About Victorinox
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

This thing is great for what I need it to do. This collection of tools comes in handy on a moment's notice. Stainless Steel eliminates the worry of rust. The knives work like butter. To close up a tool, once used, the locking spring assure that the tool will not pinch your finger. It came with a leather pouch that is often found sold separately. Compared to the Leatherman, the Victorinox lifetime warranty was the clincher for me.Customer Review: best possible!!

This is the best tool I have ever purchased. It is solidly made and has sharp blades, that stay sharp. The locking feature is one of the best things about this tool. Unlike other brands, when you use the various arms, they lock in place so they don't fold up on you while using them. It's well made, with a sturdy feel to it. The included leather pouch is also well done. The assortment of tools is fine for most everyday sorts of repairs. I like that the tools can be accessed without having to open the handles first. Overall, this tool brings to mind the word "quality". Bought this as a gift for my Dad and he has been using it for more than an year now. He just loves it and cannot leave home without it. This tool might have been used more than 100 times in last one year and has never disappointed.
And it still look as though it was bought yesterday.

This tool goes with me just about everywhere. The craftsmanship is next to none. When I am bored at work I just get it out of the leather belt sheath and work the differant blades in and out of the stored position. I know,sounds weird but you have to admire the precision of Swiss Army . Its almost surgical.
