About Victorinox
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

so, i was a bit skeptical. my wife and i have been guides for years and have used leatherman and gerber exclusively. i bought her this one as an experiment. she loves it and i love it. going to get myself one also. like the curved handle(a bit odd at first, but now enjoy it), the blades/tools, and all the accessories. most of all, i like the durability. had it for two months and have put it to good, heavy use. seems to do very well and blades keep a good edge and sharpen easily. if you 're thinking about getting one. do so.Customer Review: I got what I expected

I expected a finest quality utility knife and thats exactly what i got.
Shape and weight are sweet, both perfectly balanced. The tools seem heavy duty and the security system makes you feel very confident when using them.
Also I must say the pouch is great, the brown leader makes a perfect match with the knifes color.
The only con i see is that the leader needle doesn't have a hole to insert the cord into the leader, but it isn't a reason to doubt in getting it.

Not too big. Not too many tools. Not clumsy.
Unlike many multitools the Spirit is very well balanced (weight, size and tool selection). It is easy to find tools and they lock when open. I mainly use the knife (serrated), Phillips screwdriver and pliers which all work very well (solid, tough, right sized). The machining and finish are the best I've found. I carried a Leatherman for about ten years and I was mostly happy with it, but this Victorinox is far superior.

Recently i bougth the Spirit Multitool and i think y the best of all. The quality of the metal is greater than other ones (Gerber, Letherman,etc.) and the finished take this one level up. I'm an Electrical Engineer and i work 50/50 office and field, and this tool make the work excelent.
I also think that the desing is very ergonomic, so is really easy to handle and use.
Victorinox made high quality products at reasonable price, i recommended 100%.

Ever since I started purchasing Victorinox knives I have absolutely enjoyed all their top quality products. This multi-tool is no different. Solid, well-crafted workmanship. The tool is well designed and easy to use. I repair a great deal of computer and electronic equipment and this has been an invaluable piece to carry with me always. I really like that it came with a very nice leather belt pouch. Would recommend this item or any others by Victorinox.
