About Swiss Army Knives
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The forerunner of that name dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor or versatility.

My first "multi-tool". I've owned four or five Tinkers and have carried one on my keyring for well over 20 years (with about a year and a half gap where I carried a Leatherman P4 instead). I recently lost my keychain knife and was looking to replace it. The price on this package was so good I couldn't resist it! Now I am purchasing another set as a gift and will probably be back for more before Christmas! I also couldn't believe how fast I received my order. Swiss army knives are great tools. I just wish I could keep from loosing them. This is my fourth knife and one of my best tools. I would recommend them to anyone. I was looking for the small classic to attach to my key chain when on Amazon there was an offer of a buy one get one free! I keep Swiss Army knives in my "go bag" with other emergency gear and clothing. These knives are just too handy and are at the right price not to stock for emergencies.Customer Review: Same Product, better price.

I have owned several of the Victorinox tinker knives over the years and wouldn't have anything else, but this was the best price I ever found on them. And I also got the Victorinox classic for free. I ordered two and even got free shipping!
