About Swiss Army Knives
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The forerunner of that name dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor or versatility.

I have been with out a pocket knife for a few years now and after I got these I can't believe how I went so long with out a pocket knife. One million uses.
In fact, a few days ago my car wouldn't start and I had to walk to the parts store to get a replacement part. When I got back to my car I didn't even bother going up to my apartment to get my tools. All I needed was my Tinker Swiss Army Pocket Knife to install the part. The car started right up btw :). Great buy. Amazing pieces of engineering. Well worth the price. It's like a little tool box in you pocket.

I have carried a Tinker in my pocket for the last 15 years and find it to be invaluable. I use the screw driver features constantly and the tweezers can't be beat. It's amazing that the pullout tweezer from my knife is more precise than the very pricey pair in our company first aid kit. I've removed countless slivers, ingrown hairs, and extracted debris from wet paint. I have completely worn out two Tinkers and am thrilled with the third. I recommend this knife to anyone who carries a medium sized folding knife and doesn't require sissors or pliers.Customer Review: Swiss Army bargain

The combination is superb value at the price Amazon charged.
The Tinker is one of the more practical versions of the Swiss Army knife, much thinner, lighter and more convenient than the huge multilevel variants such as the Champion.
It offers a full sized blade and small tools, exactly what is needed in the workshop or at the campground.
The Classic is of course the pocket knife par excellence, as well as the TSA favorite, which is why millions have been confiscated from ordinary American travelers, including me.

I'm not one who really needs a knife, but I can't tell you how many times I have used the screwdrivers on this thing. Really handy to have around and you'll likely be like me and use it more than you think you will. This is a great deal too. I owned one of these about 20 years ago and I'm pretty sure it wasn't this cheap.
This is a real Victorinox, by the way. In other ways, THE Swiss Army knife. High quality and will last you a long time.

The Tinker knife is a wonderful knife. Mine was well used for over 20 years before I lost it. I have done so many quick repairs with it! Wiring repairs, tightening loose screws, trimming articles out of the paper....so many uses. The tweezers and toothpick come in handy!
I replaced my 20 year old knife with this combo and enjoy using the small knife for quick chores.
Buy this combo. It's a great investment.
