About Swiss Army Knives
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The forerunner of that name dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor or versatility.

Great gift idea for the avid golfer. Was a gift for two golfers, one being retired and spends a lot of time golfing. Even though it's not collecting dust, it doesn't receive that much usage. I think this is much more of a novelty than of a necessity if you were going to compare the two.
1 star deduction because this does not become a one-stop-shop for golfer tools. It's handy but their are golf tools out there that do just as good of a job, a lot of them do a better job individually.
So if you want a good gift idea for someone that wants one go-to golf tool, this is it.

This is a great little tool. I was expecting a swiss army product to be metal, nad this has a plastic case, but I find it very useful especially for winter golf.
