This is why all Victorinox multi-tools, made of first class stainless steel, are guaranteed a lifetime against defects in material and workmanship. REMEMBER, If it doesn't say Victorinox, it's not the Original Swiss Army Knife.
Still made in the village of Ibach, Switzerland, Swiss Army knives have been known for their quality and craftsmanship since they were first introduced over 100 years ago. Easy to carry along in a pocket, glove compartment, tool box, or boat, the Tinker is excellent for impromptu repairs.

The 3-1/2-inch-long knife holds 17 tools in its traditional, red plastic casing. They include: large and small knife blades; a can opener with 3mm screwdriver; a bottle cap lifter with 6mm screwdriver and a wire stripper; scissors; a reamer with sewing eye; a Phillips screwdriver; pliers with a wire cutter/crimper; a multi-purpose hook; tweezers; a toothpick; and a key ring. All blades and tools are made of first-class, stainless steel (except for the plastic toothpick). About Swiss Army Knives
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

Sports reviews of Victorinox Swiss Army Deluxe Tinker, Red

Customer Review: Indispensable tool, excellent gift
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I recently ordered the Deluxe Tinker. This knife will be a replacement for the Victorinox Swiss Army Tinker and Classic Knife Combo I bought 32 years ago! Even if you're not into camping, Swiss Army knives are indispensable for everyday use. I have carried mine with me everywhere (except airports). The knife has come in handy more times that I could possibly recall. Before cell phones were introduced, my Swiss Army knife helped me to make simple car repairs on the road (and I'm NO mechanic, trust me). I used it from everything from removing splinters to stripping wires. It's great to have one of these yourself. However, they make EXCELLENT GIFTS! (How many gifts have you received that you've used for 32 years and consider indispensable?). Don't leave home without it!

Customer Review: Higher primate lodge card
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

Without the Deluxe Tinker I'd be just another slack-jawed mouth-breather calling for my drool-bucket to be changed. Eventually I hope to have my Deluxe Tinker implanted in my arm. How could I interact with the modern world without pliers and Phillips screwdriver? I have a subconscious urge to take it onto airliners -- that's how I lost my last one. The scissors confer critical cuticle care. The toothpick makes a fine map pointer. And ever since the plastic actuator broke off the top of my Braun coffee grinder, I have used the awl to press the tiny recessed button that turns on the motor and pulverizes the beans of rapid thought.

This wouldn't be my first choice for a picnic knife (no corkscrew) but nothing beats it for a day in the lab.

Customer Review: Perfect Pocket Knife/Tool
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I first had a Victorinox basic pocket knife and lost it not so long ago. I was very sad as the knife had been so reliable and useful for so long. I bought another name brand and was very disappointed when it began to rust in under 1 year. So I searched and came back to the Victorinox brand, and I am so glad I did. Victorinox still has the highest quality and most useful pocket knives I've ever encountered. This Deluxe Tinker is finally THE pocket knife I have been looking for the past several years. It's one that has all the tools I need, plus two I don't, as opposed to having all but one tool I need. I work on computers regularly and this Victorinox has been the perfect tool for almost any job. I highly recommend this and other Victorinox knives.

Customer Review: Best knife EVER
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

My Victorinox Deluxe Tinker is my constant companion and replaces
a Super Tinker, which was lost. The Tinker Deluxe is a uniformly
superior tool. The blades are super sharp and can be kept
perfectly honed with very little effort on a Lansky Crock Stick
sharpener. Every other tool contained in this knife is tensioned
perfectly for easy opening (which is absolutely necessary due to
my thin, flimsy fingernails). The moveable tools (scissors, pliers,
and tweezers) fit, move, and grasp/cut with absolute precision... a hallmark
of every Victorinox brand tool that I have ever used. If you are
considering a knife/multi-tool you need look no farther. Buy it.

Customer Review: "Go-to" Quality
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

This is an excelent tool, no two ways about it. I first got a Victorinox knife from the retail store I work at. I loved that one. So, when I thought I lost it I went on Amazon to search for a viable replacement. The thing I like about Victorinox knives is their simple but solid construction. I like multi tools that handle more like pliers, but they have their place. Alot of the time those types of multi tools tend to be bulky and heavy. This knife is just about perfect both in size and weight, and of course the quality is there as it always is with Victorinox. MY only challenge is trying to find how many applications I can use this on. I recommend this knife to anyone looking for quality and value.
