Tweezers and a toothpick pull out of the ends of the Climber II. Ideal for your glove box, utility drawer, or taking along for weekend trips at the cabin. About Swiss Army Knives In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The forerunner of that name dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor or versatility.
Sports reviews of Victorinox Swiss Army Climber II Pocket KnifeCustomer Review: Usually, nothing much needed to be said about Victorinox products Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
There isn't anything much to be said about this particular model... every fuction and tool works to the standards of Victorinox... it can literally "Bring out the MacGyver in you"
The housing unlike most knives is rough for that extra grip which is a nice plus...
Overall a basic tool which will get you out of the occasional sticky spot or just small items around. A MUST have no matter where you go.
Customer Review: wow! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I got this pocket knife to replace 1 I broke. Wow! I had my older knife for about 20 years and it broke because I tried to pry something off that wouldn't come off...without dynamite. That knife was also a Swiss Army knife. I must say this one is sooooo nice. My other one had the same pieces except a pen too. But this one has everything I really want in a knife. And it's sharp too.
Customer Review: Swiss gift Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
My father used to have one of these knives when I was a boy, and he lost it while traveling because of the new airport restrictions. Anyway, this is an amazing knife. It isn't too big or too small, and it has everything that you would want out of a practical knife: scissors, flat-head screwdriver, two sizes of cutting blades, bottle opener, can opener, and a wine opener.
Customer Review: True to say a boyscout is lost without his knife Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This knife was purchased for my better half once his went missing after being in use 20 + years. True to say a boyscout is lost without his pocketknife but, from the moment he wrapped his hand around it it was like a long lost friend. Aside the weight difference he is very happy and I have not found a gift in years so simple thats gives so much pleasure. Thank you
Customer Review: Great knife Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I have had one since I was 12. Recently lost my at Orlando International Airport (forgot to put it in the checked luggage). This is almost the same as the one I lost. The only thing different is the texture and color of the red part (what would you call that, the handle?). It is rougher and slightly darker than the one that I owned. Still the same great knife.
