Sports reviews of Victorinox Swiss Army Classic SD Pocket Knife (Translucent Sapphire)Customer Review: Versatile, but unobtrusive Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This slick little knife is the first thing that slides into my pocket in the morning. I've used these small Victorinox pocket knives for many years in various models. Every little tool has been used many times, except for possibly the tweezers. The little tooth pick is the handiest and easily solves the problem of a stringy meat sandwich or chicken. The scissors are very precise and great at cutting strings or other little jobs. This knife is not rugged enough for an outdoorsman, but is ideal for a "Man about Town" or a lady. The only complaint I would have is that the knife blade does not hold an edge as long as they did years ago. It needs frequent sharpening, which is done easily with a small whetstone. However, it's a useful, quality product, and I love them.
Customer Review: Very Practical! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I have owned this little knife in various colours over the years. I have other knives for heavier-duty work, but I always carry this one around and time and time again has it proven its worth. The scissors are good for snipping that stray thread off your shirt, the file for getting a chipped nail, and the toothpick for picking that one stubborn piece of pepper out of your teeth! The knife of course for almost anything ... and best of all it comes sharpened. It's kind of a bummer getting a new knife and not being able to use it to its full potential, but with this little guy you can be slicing and dicing right out of the package.
For the low price and with a colour for every person, why *not* get one?
Customer Review: Handy-dandy Littel Tool Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I've been using these for years, most often in black or red. They wear out eventually, or I lose them to an over-zealous TSA rep when I forget to put them in my checked baggage. I play guitar and the scissors and nail file are great for keeping the talons tuned for fretwork. The scissors are high quality and the combination of options is about perfect for a pocket-knife. The screwdriver blade has come in handy thousands of times and the toothpick and tweezers are very usable and handy to have. It's small enough to carry in any clothing, yet large enough to handle most tasks. I don't know if they were a closeout or what, but the price was right for me to buy a handful so I have spares to last awhile.
Customer Review: my new best friend :D Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I had JUST recieved this only a few hours ago, and I was AMAZED. First of, when they say its small, they really do mean SMALL. This little guy is slighly smaller than your pinky. its SUPER light as well. it has 5 main gadgets:
1- knife
2- nail filer with a rectangular top (could be used as a small flat screw)
3- scissors
4- tweeeezers
5- plastic tooth pick.
I used it to open up boxes, remove the plastic wraps from DVDs, and it sinks into my little jeans pocket easily.
Its light, its compact, its BLUE...verry pretty.
I'm sure this little guy will help me in MANY ways.
Customer Review: WMD Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I have been carrying one of these as long as I can remember, at least 20 years. It is the most usefult single thing I have. My wife always raises an eyebrow when I say that. I call it my WMD (Weapon of Minimal Destruction).
This is the Victorinox version. There is also a version made by Wenger. As I understand it, Victorinox and Wenger are at odds about who is the "original" swiss army knife. I don't care who is right about that, but I think the Victorinox version of the knife is nicer. It's a bit thinner, operates more smoothly, and is finished a little nicer.
