Description of Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus Pocket KnifeFrom the renowned company that created the Swiss Army Knife a century ago comes the Champion Plus, a complete set of tools for campers, hikers, hunters, fishers, picnic enthusiasts, and people all trades--all neatly contained in a single implement. Measuring just 3-1/2 inches long, the Champion Plus is stylishly cased in the famous red Swiss Army body that's recognized around the world. More importantly, the pocket knife contains 30 stainless-steel tools appropriate for just about any occasion. The standard camping tools include a large blade, a small blade, a corkscrew, a can opener, a bottle opener, a small screwdriver, a large screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, scissors, tweezers, and a toothpick. And that's just the beginning, as the Champion Plus also offers a punch reamer, multipurpose hook, wood saw, fish scaler, and hook disgorger. In short, there's no better accessory for camping, hunting, and fishing trips. Should the basic tools not cut it, the Champion Plus steps up with a host of extras, including a metal file, metal saw, fine screwdriver, mini screwdriver, and chisel scraper. Add in such tools as a ruler, nail file, nail cleaner, magnifying glass, pressurized ball point pen, straight pen, sewing eye, and key ring and you're well equipped for everything from repairing holes in tents to reading the fine print on instructions. As with all Victorinox items, the Champion Plus is made to exacting standards, with 60-plus individual parts and 450 steps going into its construction. Victorinox attends to every detail, from selecting the finest materials to performing the final inspection. In addition, each individual tool has been hardened in a different way to stand up to its designated use. Such care is unmatched, and is why the Champ series is recognized by such international experts as the New York Museum of Modern Art and the State Museum of Applied Art in Munich, both of which have selected it for their "excellence in design" collections. Outfitted with a nylon handle and an aluminum housing, the Champion Plus carries a lifetime warranty.

About Swiss Army Knives In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.
Sports reviews of Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus Pocket KnifeCustomer Review: you wont be disappointed Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This is another addition to my Swiss Army Family, I bought my first one in the Anchorage Alaska Airport, tax free, 20 years ago (1989)for exactly $59.95 (box still has the sticker on it)and it was called Victorinox Swiss Army Champion...or swisschamp, not the plus. When I saw it here for $28 I just had to have another one. (Still have my old one - mint shape, well almost - I usually don't buy anything I can't or won't use as some point in time.) Have a smaller one I carry daily. On a side note just bought the Victorinox swisstool RS, and I must say it's a must have for any Victorinox owner, you wont be disappointed. It just a great all - around knife.
Customer Review: Awesome Pocket Knife Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This knife is great. On top of the normal high quality Victorinox stuff like knife blades and tweezers and wood saw and screwdriver and can and bottle openers, it also has a ton of useful stuff that other pocket knives don't have, like a magnifying glass for starting a fire, a mini screwdriver for glasses and stuff, a scaler and ruler and hook remover for fishing, nail file, metal saw, and a freaking ball point pen! But it's not too big and bulky, it's the perfect size. This thing is in my opinion the best pocket knife a man can have. And the price here is from 29 to 33 bucks, where normally online they can sell for $40 to $100, so it's a steal!
Customer Review: Amazing Deal Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This knife is an amazing deal (at around $30). The price varies somewhat, but as others have mentioned this is basically the same as the Swiss Champ model, but without the pliers. This is a great knife and a great gift for a person who likes to tinker with things or explore. Victorinox Swiss Army knives are of high quality, and this one is an exceptional value right now. I found the knife is not too big or heavy to carry, although I'm not the type of person to carry it in my pants pocket unless I was wearing Cargo pants or other outdoor gear. I'm going to get a case to protect it, this one is a keeper. Highly Recommended at value price.
Customer Review: Mine's 30+ Years Old and Still Going Strong Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I bought a Swiss Army Champion approximately 32 years ago for about $35. I still have it and just got it out to take a look at its condition. It still looks practically new with shiny steel and very sharp blades (aided once in a while with a diamond whetstone). I have used my knife to do all sorts of things including sawing down a Christmas tree, butt hinging and hanging a door, drilling holes for screws, opening the occasional bottle of wine/beer, etc. As I like to say, never mind your American Express Card, never leave home without your Swiss Army Knife. The thing is invaluable and worth twice the price.
Customer Review: VICTORINOX SWISS ARMY KNIFE Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I have owned several Swiss Army Knives over the years and have always found them to be of superior quality. This purchase is no exception. It's well made, functional and aesthetically attractive for those who appreciate a good knife. It has tools that one will use often and some that may only be needed occasionally but it's all in a nice compact frame. I don't think you could buy a better multipurpose knife at any price than those made by Victorinox and getting this Swiss Champion at a $50 savings rocks!
