Description of Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus Pocket KnifeFrom the renowned company that created the Swiss Army Knife a century ago comes the Champion Plus, a complete set of tools for campers, hikers, hunters, fishers, picnic enthusiasts, and people all trades--all neatly contained in a single implement. Measuring just 3-1/2 inches long, the Champion Plus is stylishly cased in the famous red Swiss Army body that's recognized around the world. More importantly, the pocket knife contains 30 stainless-steel tools appropriate for just about any occasion. The standard camping tools include a large blade, a small blade, a corkscrew, a can opener, a bottle opener, a small screwdriver, a large screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, scissors, tweezers, and a toothpick. And that's just the beginning, as the Champion Plus also offers a punch reamer, multipurpose hook, wood saw, fish scaler, and hook disgorger. In short, there's no better accessory for camping, hunting, and fishing trips. Should the basic tools not cut it, the Champion Plus steps up with a host of extras, including a metal file, metal saw, fine screwdriver, mini screwdriver, and chisel scraper. Add in such tools as a ruler, nail file, nail cleaner, magnifying glass, pressurized ball point pen, straight pen, sewing eye, and key ring and you're well equipped for everything from repairing holes in tents to reading the fine print on instructions. As with all Victorinox items, the Champion Plus is made to exacting standards, with 60-plus individual parts and 450 steps going into its construction. Victorinox attends to every detail, from selecting the finest materials to performing the final inspection. In addition, each individual tool has been hardened in a different way to stand up to its designated use. Such care is unmatched, and is why the Champ series is recognized by such international experts as the New York Museum of Modern Art and the State Museum of Applied Art in Munich, both of which have selected it for their "excellence in design" collections. Outfitted with a nylon handle and an aluminum housing, the Champion Plus carries a lifetime warranty.

About Swiss Army Knives In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.
Sports reviews of Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus Pocket KnifeCustomer Review: Very Handy Tool - Highly Recommended Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
Having the Champion Plus Pocket Knife is like carrying a small toolbox in your pocket. It is a little too big to haul around for everyday use, but it is great to have when hiking or doing small jobs around the house. This is a well made, solid Swiss Army knife that will give years of service.
There are a lot of useful tools included on this knife (see the product description), but I find the VERY sharp knives, small Phillips screwdriver, functional scissors (really), wood saw, and ball point pen to be the most heavily used. These are all great tools and have saved me a lot of time and trouble when the need arose.
I like this knife so much that we ordered 3 more to give as gifts. Highly Recommended!
Customer Review: Indispensible classic! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This is the second Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus that I have owned over a period of some 40 years. The only negative thing I can say about it is that it has "legs", it will "walk away' unless guarded jealously, which is what happened to my previous purchase. There are so many special purpose tools included in this tiny but high-quality package, I never thought that I would find a use for some of them. But living with it in my pocket, I thought of it whenever an unusual task presented itself, and by this time I have tested all of its features "on the job". Every tool performs as advertised! Well worth the price!

Customer Review: gr8 SAK Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
Functionality:
Really like the champion plus pocket knife SAK(swiss army knife). Most useful features(till now) are the scissors, can opener, small knife, flathead screw driver. Hope to use all the tools soon, will update later. Always carry this with me, see notes on portability below.
Portability :
Not a true pocket knife - tad heavy , but portable if carried in a belt pouch(which i got - X-Large Zermatt Pouch, leather). So no complaints, always wanted to get a SAK, glad picked this one instead of the swisschamp(has extra pliers). With this SAK, i can skip the pouch sometimes and carry in pocket, dont think possible with the swisschamp(pliers add to weight).
Customer Review: Great tools Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
The Swiss Army knife comes with an amazing selection of useful tools great for any kind of emergency or even just basic around the house uses. The knife was a little bulky as you can see in the images I uploaded. I didn't expect that, however it comes with a lot of tools. I still give this swiss army knife a 5. It seems durable. The edge was sharp, but I easily made it sharper with a halogen light bulb. The only thing that I liked about my leatherman knife versus the swiss knife is that my leatherman locks the knife blade/saw/file/steak knife when I open them. The swiss knife blades just pull out and could be bumped back closed onto your knuckles, but it never happened yet.
