Customer Review: Cheap; you get one chance to adjust it

Five stars because the price is right, and because everyone (who is interested in fitness) should have a jump rope. You could easily pay twice as much. I've had this rope for over a year now, and I have been very satisfied. Some reviewers claim that the rope is not "fast enough," but I have not noticed a problem. I can do double-unders, although this may be because I'm 6'4" and I did not need to cut the rope down (making it heavier). The rope's durability has proved to be excellent: I use it on concrete and have not had a problem. This is important if you plan to jump rope in the garage or outside because, in my experience, the beaded and leather ropes do not handle concrete as well. The ball bearing swivels have held up nicely.
Okay, as my wife says, I can't help but 'tinker,' so I adjusted the rope by less than two inches to see what all the fuss in the other reviews is about. The caps come off easily with a small screwdriver, and I had no trouble adjusting the rope and crimping the metal with pliers. As far as I can tell, I crimped them hard enough to prevent any future adjustments. Not that I plan on getting shorter, but I do agree with the other reviews--if your rope arrives from the factory already crimped, it will take a lot of effort to make the adjustments.
