The hand grips on these weights are neoprne, which helps maintain a good grip even when working out. I have not have had them slip, and the neoprene also helps prevent scuffing and marring of you floors when you put them down.
3Lbs is a good amount to work out with, it presented a good challenge for me, but were not overbearing. When I first started using them I felt good muscle sore and not pain, and as I worked with them more an more my range of motion inproved and the soreness level dropped.
Great for walking or any other exercise where you are looking for some weights.

I keep these handy so I won't forget to do my routine. I cannot do some of the exercising suggested with the product because of trouble with knees, I'm 78.
But I feel stronger, refreshed and ready! after a few minutes with the weights. Then I walk for the strenthening of my legs. I hope to work up to the 4 lb weights. Besides, they are pretty. Amazon.com sent these out fast. That's another good thing I appreciate

These are perfect! They are cute, easy to grip and hold, and they add the perfect amount of weight to my workout.
Not only can I use them light arm exercises while I'm sitting at the table doing work, but I am also able to use them for Turbo Jam (for the weight-training section of the DVD).
And, I must admit, they also work well as the occasional paper weight or doorstop. *winks*

How do you rate hand weights? Hmmm.. Well, they are covered in neoprene which makes them soft and easy to hold, especially when you are working out and your hands get sweaty. The really nice thing about them was the shipping was free so I bought a set of 5 lb. hand weights as well. Shipping 16 lbs. of weights is not cheap, so the free shipping was really the reason I bought them off the internet.Customer Review: Great Walking Weights!

I love these cute purple hand weights! They are very easy to carry and provide just enough weight to help build those arms while walking. Especially for beginners.
When it's really, **really** hot and HUMID out, they are a bit slippery and difficult to hang on to, but certainly better than those weights without the Neoprene coating. I highly recommend these little purple pills. =)
