At first, I didn't want these because they didn't have the thumb hole that the others did, and I thought they would be shifting around on my arm, and I like things to be secure. But, I'm pleasantly surprised that they don't shift around on my forearms, nor on my ankles. At present, I'm very happy with them. We'll see how long they last. This is my third set of ankle weights, the first two started leaking their sand.Customer Review: Effective

The ankle weights are helpful. Some confusion about the weights of each unit. We thought each bag was one pound, but it is 1/2 pound, which actually suited us better. The velcro is very hard to release, which would be needed if used for walking or running. It is a little frustrating when only used for lifting and old fingers find removing difficult. I have a hard time with them turning and the metal on the bracket digging into my ankle but it's probably just me.
