If you've never mastered the art of shuffling a deck of cards, this battery-operated card shuffler can mix one or two decks completely with the push of a button. Note From the Manufacturer: Sometimes during shipping, the gears of the shuffler can slip out of alignment and cause the shuffler not to function properly. If this happens, all you need to do is adjust the gears. If you refer to the picture below, the arrows indicate which gears may have slipped. Slide the gear(s) back in place and make sure all gears are touching. The unit should now function properly. |

In response to your request (dated April 14, 2010) for my review
of a recent purchase on Amazon:
Deluxe Wooden CARD SHUFFLER

I write the following:
I have been on several trips since ordering the above. It came in
due time, and I opened it up after getting home from the second trip.
Two things: 1). About the product. 2). About sending it back.
1). The product caused genuine dismay. I haven't felt this way
about dealing with Amazon before.
There was no paperwork saying that I bought "so and so".
There was no instruction sheet saying "Open here, . . ."
When I did get it ready to try, it DIDN'T WORK.
2). So I thought about sending it back with suitable words,
then I thought "is it worth the trouble?"
No--so it has reclined in the storage area, with my batteries in it.
It still doesn't work, and I checked the batteries for voltage
and proper insertion. It hasn't been worth the trouble to me to
repackage and take it to UPS.
So: no shuffler, no $21.32. If you hadn't sent this email, I
probably wouldn't have bothered at all. That's just the
way I feel about it: "Bummed".

I'm stunned that Amazon continues to sell this product considering how many customers have reported receiving non-functional card shufflers. We bought this as a gift--it was so embarrassing to watch someone try to use our gift only to find that it would not work. (Yes, we tried various new batteries and made sure they were inserted correctly.) We were hoping it would be as good as the one we got from Radio Shack a few years back that it resembles, but instead it is a total disappointment. And since they weren't able to open the gift until after the 30 day return policy had expired, we have essentially thrown money away by ordering a gift through Amazon. The shuffler broke the second shuffle it was to do. On th every first shuffle one side was slow to move in relation to the other and therefore a poor shuffle resulted. After a quick reload the slow side quit completely. After attempting to contact customer service to report the issue I recieved a return e-mail from from what seems to be an outsourced out of the US response as it stated taht "We are sorry for any inconvience you may have caused." The customer service was of one help. I think I will just stick to buying books from Amazon.Customer Review: Fell apart out of the box

Took this product out of the box and the wood top half came off the motorized bottom half. This is a present for my father who is elderly and has arthritic hands. He plays cards every weekday and his last one finally broke after 10 years. I did not return it, rather I hot glued it together and clamped it over night. Held tight next day. Hopefully it will last long enough for me to find a quality replacement. Very cheaply built in my opinion.Customer Review: very poor quality

This was a replacement for a slightly different model I ordered a week ago that had intermittent battery connections. This one, delivered today, is completely dead, right out of the box. I suspect both models, as well as many others that Amazon carries, are made in the same factory in China with apparently little quality control. It's a good thing that Amazon has great customer service.
