Customer Review: Works, Messy, Broken
Sport shop rating: 2 Stars

I've had this for a couple of months now and have gone through at least one complete "cycle". The best thing I can say it that it works - mostly. But it's not much better at getting those last few squeezes of paste out of the tube than can be done manually. There just isn't enough of a vacuum created by the seal. I found myself having to push the last dredges of paste down towards the opening.

The other major flaw is that it's messy. Getting the tube into the opening takes a bit of force. Trying to urge an uncapped tube of toothpaste into anything can get messy. Additionally, sometimes a little extra paste comes out when used. It gets caught by the dispenser lever which keeps it off of counters. But in order to clean that lever you either have to dismantle the set up or clean very carefully. This is the same lever that forces the paste out onto the brush in the first place. Press it while cleaning and you got more paste.

Another, but lesser, flaw is that there are only suction cups to hang it. They didn't work on my tile, but work great on the mirror. Unfortunately, it's not the smallest gadget in the world and can take up a good bit of bathroom real estate. I don't know how it could be listed as a space saver as it's easily 2-3 times the size of a plain old tube of paste. Anyhow, it would have been nice to have an nail/screw option so I could attach it to the wall.

All in all, would I recommend it? If you have kids or messy family members, then sure. Or if you want a novelty item. But most of us could do without it.

I've reduced my rating by 1 star. Less than 6 months of use, by 1 person, and it has broken. In the middle of the second tube of toothpaste, I noticed that nothing was coming out. The tube was securely in place, but I still had to go in and manually force the paste down. And that only worked for 2-3 days before I had to go back in and do it again.

Last week, I noticed that the plastic ring that circles the rubber section where the tube is placed is broken. Cracked completely through and lopsided.

It's useless now.

Customer Review: A gimmick that works only if you're lucky
Sport shop rating: 2 Stars

This is a novelty that my 8 year old girls wanted, apparently it appeals to their sense of cool bathroom. It did to me as well, only because I was getting tired of keeping the toothpaste tube clean.
It works with a silicon holder that has a hole in the middle. The tube nozzle is squeezed into this hole which holds the tube and makes the system air tight. Below the holder is a kind of bellow system. I am assuming the workings here, so if I am wrong, please correct me. By pushing on the lever with the brush, the air is pushed out of the bellow and creates the vacuum that sucks down the paste. For this system to work, as in the laboratory conditions of the tv commercial, the nozzle must be thin and long enough to fit properly into the holder's hole. I also think the plastic that the tube is made of must be just thin (flexible) enough so that the vacuum can suck down just enough paste.
Neither of these conditions met ours and this dispenser did not dispense enough amount, the tube slid out of the holder, and only the most careful placement of the brush would leave the lever clean of the paste. Only good thing about this was its 2 large suction cups that made it kind of a struggle to remove it for cleaning. I returned it for refund. I do think this taught my kids a good lesson about what they see on commercials. I always try to teach them to see the commercials with certain doubt, and this was a good hands-on lesson.
I also can't say enough about the power of rating system and reviews on Amazon. Without the Amazon backing me up, I never would have gotten the refund, as in the bad old days. In fact, I waited for this product to show up in Amazon before trying it. I gave my seller a "good" rating.

Customer Review: Does NOT work will all toothpaste tubes
Sport shop rating: 2 Stars

The box explicitly states that it works with your favorite toothpaste, but that is NOT true. It does not work with Tom's of Maine nor Arm & Hammer, both of which happen to be favorites in our house. The tube openings on Tom's of Maine and Arm &Hammer are too large to fit in the opening on the Touch N Brush dispenser. I bet the makers of this product are in cahoots with Crest or Colgate. Now will have to switch toothpaste brands just to be able to use it. If you use Tom's of Maine or Arm & Hammer exclusively, then do not buy this product. You will be disappointed.

Other than that, it works well for my 2yo and 4yo (went out and bought a tube of Colgate), though some toothpaste does accumulate inside the dispenser. I would rather have it there than all over my bathroom counter like it used to be.

The suction cups work great and have had no problems with it falling off the mirror at all.

Customer Review: Works if you can make it stay on the wall..
Sport shop rating: 2 Stars

I bought this for my sons, who saw the commercials and had to have it. I like the idea of it, and it actually works well when it is on the wall, but therein lies the problem!
I attached it to my wall using the clear tape they provided. It stayed on the wall for about a day. I found it on the floor in the AM, and I put it back up. A couple of hours later, my husband found it on the floor again. I then tried sticking it to the mirror (which I didn't want to do as it does take-up some room). It lasted on the mirror maybe an hour.
I honestly thought that it was getting too cold overnight (we turn the heat down to 62), but that doesn't explain it falling off during the day when the heat is at 70.After reading the other reviews, I see mine isn't the only one to have trouble hanging. I think the next place I try hanging it will be the trash can.
