Every dedicated cyclist needs a good portable pump for his or her training rides. However, many on-the-go pumps are somewhat clunky and not all that easy to use. Enter the Topeak Road Morph G, which packs floor pump efficiency and ease of use into a compact, portable design you can bring along for the ride. The Road Morph G boasts a clever foldout footpad that stabilizes the pump against the ground rather than your hand, creating a comfortable, efficient pumping motion. Plus, the pump's flexible air hose makes it easy to work with awkward or tight valve placements while also helping prevent valve stem damage. Other features include an extra-long barrel, an inline gauge, a secure mounting bracket, a Presta/Schrader head, and a plastic thumb lock. The Road Morph G measures 2.2 by 13.8 by 1.1 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 0.49 pounds.
Sports reviews of Topeak Road Morph G Bike Pump with GaugeCustomer Review: Great pump Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I rode this past weekend with the new Topeak pump in my pack... 2 flats :(... but, the pump was the real silver lining of the ride -- got road tires up to 100 psi (quickly too) without the floor pump (2nd flat would have been a problem with CO2)! The pump is a bit bulky and doesn't look good on a sleek road bike frame, so I am carrying the pump in my Camelbak. But the pump just WORKS!
I already run presta valves on both road and mountain bikes, so I don't have to fuss with flipping the pump head. The valve does "clamp" on when up rather than down -- a bit different than most floor pumps, but no big deal.
Bottom line: 100 psi without a floor pump... this is a keeper.
Customer Review: Good product except no adequate manual Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This is an overall solid mini-pump. It took me awhile to figure out how to attach it to a Presta Valve since I had no experience with it. The lack of documentation definitely didn't help. I finally figured the chuck is reversed. You need to have the chuck at a down position before you attach it to an opened Presta valve. Once it is all the way down, then pull the chuck up to the vertical position to secure the pump to the valve. The pump is easy to operate under 100psi. Anything over requires much harder push but is sort of expected out of this small package.
Overall, I'll still give it a 5 because it fits my needs and hopefully it will last a long time too.
Customer Review: Perfect pump Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I was looking for a pump for my hybrid bike which needed 90-110 PSI for its tires. I don't have a floor pump, so I wanted something that could attach to my frame and go with me on rides. This pump was exactly what I was looking for. It does get a little difficult once your above 60 PSI, but the trick is not to try to pump hard, but to just fully push the pump in, as the nozzle thing locks onto your tube stem tightly and no air escapes. Once I figured this out, no more problem with wearing my arms out as quickly.
The PSI gauge is by no means exact. It seems to jump in 3-5 PSI increment, but it does the trick.
Overall great value for the money!
Customer Review: Well Designed & Extremely Competent Pump for its Size! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I was looking for a 'medium-sized' pump with a gauge that could handle pumping higher pressure tires. I had my doubts before I tried it but this pump is a champ.
The handle twists out for more torque and the sliver that slides out for your foot to stabilize the pump - this is a killer combination for such a small pump. It allows you to easily pump a tire to higher pressures without a lot of effort.
Add the gauge and long hose (it's expandable - so longer than it looks even in the picture) for easy connections to your tires.
The bracket is also well done and holds it tight to your frame.
This pump is a winner.
Customer Review: Useful road pump Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I've been riding for five years. I ride approximately a hundred-twenty miles a week. I bought a frame pump at first. It didn't have a hose and I would break the valve stem out. This "Topeak Road Morph" pump is my second. I have one on each of my bikes. I love the built-in gauge. The gauge is very accurate, as I checked it against a regular gauge. The only draw back to the pump is that the twist lock handle rattled. I got some teflon tape and went around the locking groove and no more rattle. I have been using this pump for about a year now, and I use it exclusively to keep the air up to a hundred-twenty psi in my tires. I would recommend this pump to others.
