About Topeak
Topeak has received an avalanche of awards and accolades since its founding in 1991. The company has developed such innovations as the JowBlow floor pumps with SmartHead technology, which sense and automatically adapt to Schrader and Presta valves without swapping out parts; the award-winning Morph series of mini pumps; the ALiEN multitools, which separate into different parts so cyclists can bring only the tools they need; and the Hexus mini tool and Bikamper personal shelter, which received the prestigious Red Dot award for outstanding design. The most important part of the Topeak story, however, is the passion of the founders and employees, who are cyclists, too. The company is dedicated to making the ride better, and focuses on creating products and accessories to help facilitate an escape from the traffic jams, cubicles, and mind-numbing meetings of everyday life.

Customer Review: on selecting the right frame version
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

The mount looks great and works great with the Topeak bags that are designed for it. I bought the side frames also because I got the EXP bag with panniers. The rack mounts pretty fast and easy to your seat post and the frame supports also go on pretty quick. I also put the MTX fender on, which I wasn't sure would go on with the pannier frame. It all integrates perfectly. I am going to post a picture soon. Make sure you put it on tight and realize it is really a commuter rack. If you are using it while hitting rough trails on a mountain bike expect it to shift around some if you have much loaded on it. As for frame selection I chose the A frame and it was an incorrect decision for me and so exchanged it for the V. I was afraid the V frame would sit too close to my tire with the fender on so I opted for a high set up. You should try to mount it low so as not to raise the center of gravity or battle the weight of the filled bag. The reason for the A frame is if your mounting it on a small bike with a low seat with little clearance from seat to tire. The equivalent of a BMX bike. The E frame should work for a lot to play it safe including road and mountain bikes. The V frame will work on quite a few as long as the tire isn't too big. I have a 26" mountain bike tire and it sits a few inches from the tire. Oh if you have a wedge under you seat you can probably keep it on but it is a tight fit. So far I love the look and other than one incident of it shifting have loved the performance.

Customer Review: Very sturdy, and well built.
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I am very happy with my Topeak MTX Beam Rack V series. It is stout and abit on the heavy side, but that is to be expected for how sturdy it is. I have it installed on my Specialized Rockhopper comp 29er with a 23" Frame, and I have no clearance issues whatsoever. Even with the added Topeak Defender Fender, I still have about 5 inches of tire clearance.
One thing I can say though, the rack comes with several pieces that you can use to attach different light sources, though if you use the one for the Topeak Tail light, and the fender at the same time, I recommend turning the tailight bracket upside down so the fender doesn't vibrate and knock your light loose. This is no biggy, it already has holes in it to be rotated 180 degrees, probably for this reason.
Again, very happy, its beefy, and I have no worries about it coming loose with its extra heavy duty seat post quick release attachment.

Customer Review: Excellent system but be careful when ordering!!!
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

This system is excellent, I can carry everything I need to day commute and have extra room to boot, be careful when ordering as there are several parts to the whole system. The system is durable and easy to install!

Customer Review: Easy to install, use
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

Easy to install, I needed to add some shim, not a problem. Works GREAT with my MTX trunk. Added panier support to it also. Good for day rides or trips to the store.

Customer Review: Use with a Topeak bag for a great system
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

This is my third seat post rack. Overall, when combined with a Topeak bag, it's the best. I can't speak to longevity as I have only had the rack for one month. I bought one for me and one for my wife. Both fit our bikes perfectly, because of the availability of three different shapes (E, A, or V types). The real plus is when you combine this rack with a Topeak bag that just slides on and locks into place.

This rack is rated for 20 pounds. As the rack is relatively light, I would not challenge this limitation. If you need to carry a ton, there are heavier racks out there - I own one. But if you don't need a steel girder for your luggage, this lighter weight is nice. It's enough for my needs.

Some reviews state that the rack wanders from side to side. In my experience, that would only happen if you did not secure it tight enough, or overloaded it. That being said, I wish it bolted to the seat-post to reduce the opportunity for theft. That is the primary reason for not giving it five stars. But overall, it's a great rack and rack system.
