The company has developed such innovations as the JowBlow floor pumps with SmartHead technology, which sense and automatically adapt to Schrader and Presta valves without swapping out parts; the award-winning Morph series of mini pumps; the ALiEN multitools, which separate into different parts so cyclists can bring only the tools they need; and the Hexus mini tool and Bikamper personal shelter, which received the prestigious Red Dot award for outstanding design. The most important part of the Topeak story, however, is the passion of the founders and employees, who are cyclists, too. The company is dedicated to making the ride better, and focuses on creating products and accessories to help facilitate an escape from the traffic jams, cubicles, and mind-numbing meetings of everyday life.
Sports reviews of Topeak MTX Trunk Bag EXP with Side PanniersCustomer Review: Great Bag Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
I have been commuting with this bag for a month and really like it. I really like the MTX system for taking the bag on and off the rack. The fold down panniers are very convenient and hook to the bottom of the rack very quickly and securely. I would like a few more external pockets and zipper pulls large enough to put a luggage lock through. Over all I would highly recomend this bag. Although the next time, I might get the larger size.
Customer Review: lots of room, light, best to have the right rack but you can do without Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
Carries all of my work clothes and lunch with room to spare. I didn't have the right rack for it, so I picked up 3 bungee cords and it works fine with the rack i have. I would recommend this product

Nice bag well made and in combination with the Topeak rear rack makes mounting and dismounting a breeze. The fold out panniers are nice when you need the extra space.
Customer Review: Good but could be better Sport shop rating: 3 Stars
The good: 1) The materials used are good quality and feel like they will hold up under use. 2) The construction is good. It is a well put together bag. 3) The ease of use with the Topeak rack. It fits easily and securily. It is a good system that Topeak has. 4) The top is lightly insulated. Good spot for putting my lunch during the commute.
The bad: 1) The price. There are several less expensive options out there. 2) No exterior easy to reach pockets for phone, wallet, keys etc.. 3)The panniers should be a couple inches wider and taller. The bags are a little undersized.
In the end I would have rated it higher if the bags were just a little larger and if it were just a bit less expensive. Also, I had problems ordering directly from Amazon. The order was filled by Amazon with an expected delivery date of 3-5 business days. Two days after the order was placed I went to track the shipment and it hadn't even picked up yet. It stated that there was a problem getting shipped out. So I had to pay the extra for expedited delivery. That was disappointing. I didn't even get a notice from Amazon that there was a problem.
That was my original review but after 7 months my opinion has changed. I would not give it 3 stars. I am currently on my 2nd bag because I had to return the original after 3 wks. The bag began to come apart at the seems. Now my second bag has the same problem. I only put clothes in there so it's not that I overload it. This is something you might consider if you are using this for your daily commute.
Customer Review: More like a Glove Box Sport shop rating: 3 Stars
Purchased this item with the intent of using it for shopping, and college. A replacement for my day pack. Unfortunately the cargo capacity is seriously lacking. Yes I know I should have read the dimensions better, pulled out a tape measure and mocked it up to better understand how little it will carry.
The side panniers measure about 9"x11"x3" will hold one or two textbooks, or a box of cereal, but not a binder, well yes it will but wont zip up. The top trunk is good for a pair of gloves, some maps, a camera, a small bag lunch, and someplace to put my lights, but nothing bigger than a loaf of bread.
On the up side the construction appears first rate, the panniers secure solidly to the rack once un-furled, and un-zip about half way down on both side for ease of loading, the shoulder strap is a nice touch, though I'm not sure it'll ever get used.
As a dedicated cargo carrier I think their might be something better. But if all you need is a low capacity carrier it should be OK.
For the $30+ I paid it's acceptable.
