Customer Review: Love this pump

Before I got this pump, I was using a fairly low end floor pump made by Bell which I got for around $15 at a local sports store. That pump was fine for mountain bike tires, which I never really pumped much above 40psi. However, I recently got into road biking, and I found that trying to pump tires up to 110psi with that old pump was an experience! For one, above 80 psi, I could hear air start leaking out from where the pump head clamps to the valve stem. Which makes getting to 110psi like a race against the leaking air. Second, pumping also gets so hard at that point that you practically need to lean all your weight on the pump handle.
Well, this JoeBlow pump is a whole world of difference! There really is almost no comparison. No air leaks out while pumping. And the pump action is way easier than my old pump. I'm now a total believer that these JoeBlow pumps are awesome!
Here's some extra tidbits that I thought might be useful:
-this pump does feel really sturdy, it's almost entirely metal, even the casing around the pressure gauge. It's also very stable on the ground. The downside is that it's a little heavy and large.
-I personally liked the way the pressure gauge is up high on the pump stem, so it's that much easier to see.
-one reviewer thought the pump action was awkward, I don't find it that way at all
-the "smart head" is a really nice feature
In conclusion, if you're using an old cheapo pump and wondering if you'll even notice the difference with one of these, you will!
