Customer Review: Great tire pump! -- 6 Month update!
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

Have owned this great pump for 6 months now and it has worked flawlessly. Easy to use. Do not worry about the reviews that say it is difficult to pump at high pressures, as it is a breeze even at 80 lbs. Very happy with purchase, best bike pump ever!!!

Great pump. I have 2 bikes, both mid priced Schwinns. This pump works fantastic for 50lb and 80lb inflations. Just an easy pump and the pressure goes up 3-5 lbs per pump. Easy great working pump. Pressure indicator is easy to read even with 52 year old eyes. The tire attachment is quick, easy, and does not leak excessive air when unattached.

I spent numerous hours researching great tire pumps, and I am convinced this is the best for the money. Use the pump every two weeks to keep the bike tire pressure in top condition. Great value! I went green 18 months ago when the evil ex-wife took everything, so I very happily just ride a bike these days. That's right, no car for 1 1/2 years and could not be happier.

I live in Florida so it may be easier than in the northern states, but life is great without car payments, license plate fees, insurance costs -- wake up people and enjoy a more simple way of life. Makes me as happy as the carefree college days! If you enjoyed reading this review, please give it a positive comment. Thanks!

Even ride the bike 30 miles, with the help of public transportation (bus with bike racks) to the regional airport. Wow do people look at you funny when you ride to the airport with a backpack and a bike. Time for a different way of living and thinking, and it's great!

In short, since bikes are my only transport, a bike pump is my number one tool. And this is the tire pump that works best. Best wishes to you on your bike riding adventures!

Customer Review: The Topeak Joe Blow Max II bicycle pump - first impression.
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

When the pump arrived, it was larger than the impression I had from the picture in the ad. Nice quality of construction. When you place it on a level surface, it stands instead of falling over like many other pumps. The action is very smooth on this pump. On mountain bike tires, each time the pump was stroked a full cycle, it added about 4.5 lbs. of pressure to the tire. Not bad. So if the tire is low, at say 20 psi, it takes only about 7 pumps to bring it up to 50 psi. (This will be different on different size tires, expect to pump a lot more strokes on a car tire). The pressure gauge has a movable collar not visible in the photo that has a red arrow on it. Align the red arrow with the desired pressure, and just pump until the needle is aligned. The valve connector worked well and locked in place without any air leakage. Storage of the hose is well thought out. After clipping the hose in place, it also holds in the handle from unwanted extension if picked up by the handle or laid on its side, also protecting the polished rod by keeping it inside the cylinder. For the money, it looks like you can't go wrong!

Customer Review: Max air
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

This pump does the job! I'll admit that I've only used it to pump up the tires on my Trikke cambering vehicle, which, because of their high pressure requirements (90 psi) and small diameter (12 inches), require a topping off periodically. Before Max II I would struggle using a worn out bicycle pump and spend about 15 minutes for the 3 tires, since a lot of air would leak out of them as I removed the hose connection. With Max II, I don't have that problem due to the efficient seal mechanism. Also, I only have to use about 4 to 5 pump actions to get the tires up to 90 psi, whereas I would work up a sweat with my old pump.
Max II's pressure gauge seems to be quite accurate when I check the results with my digital gauge.
I haven't used it for auto or bicycle tires, but it really works great for my Trikke. Also, the storage for extra needles on the base is handy and the clip for the hose makes it easy to carry.

Customer Review: Heavy duty pump that will inflate everything quickly
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I am using this pump mainly for pumping air to the many tires I have: 5 bikes, stroller... and a few balls. The pump works great and easy to operate if you are are over 5 feet and weigh more than 100 lb. I especially like the pump because I need to pump 100+psi to my road bike and this pump completes the task in a few strokes. It supports easy and quick switching between Presta and Schrader and w/o leaks.

Pros:
- Inflates fast
- Once pressure builds up gives quite accurate pressure reading
- Support high pressure tires
- Easy and quick switch between Presta to Schrader valves.

Cons:
- Hard to operate by kids
- Inflating needle is of poor quality (but who cares, needles are cheap)

Customer Review: Awesome pump for a great price
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I purchased this product based on the existing reviews I read on it to use at home, mainly for my road bike. I had a cheap $20 pump from the local sporting goods store, and the gauge simply wasn't accurate - I kept over inflating my MTB tires with it and ended up with flats all the time. My fault, yes, but nonetheless a new pump was in order. I've only used this pump a few times, but so far, I'm impressed! It only takes a few pumps to get my road tires up to the proper pressure, and the long tube that secures the handle is a nice feature as well. Definitely a great pump for its price point. I'm very satisfied.
