i like this little gadget. has ALL the tools you'll need with a small size for always taking with.

I bought this tool a few years ago and so far it's been very good to have around. It includes a philips and flat screwdriver, a chain tool, two tire levers, and assorted sized hex wrenches (I haven't ever found a bike with a hex bolt that this tool didn't have the correct size for)

Also, since really this tool is just held together by two hex bolts, you can actually adjust how easily the tools pop out (the size you need to adjust it with is actually on a standalone hex wrench on one of the tire levers), which I find useful on occasion. (I'll make it really tight when I'm using it as a screwdriver so it doesn't flop around)

The only downside I've really found from this tool are the tire levers, they're much more flimsy than your typical stand-alone tire levers, and as such I broke one the first time I tried changing a tire with them. They're definitely viable, you just need to be a little more gentle with them.

With the compact size, low price, and medium-high utility I'd say it's hard to beat.

edit: You know, I never really noticed the housing of this tool is made out of plastic until I read the review from the guy who had his break, not just the black tire levers on the sides, but the outside peices that the levers rest in. So, at the risk of personal injury, I squeezed the tool as hard as I could, with no result. Take that for what you will, maybe the other guy just got a lemon?

Customer Review: Good general purpose bike tool

I've had this tool for many years now, and I still haven't seen a better tool, for the price. Over the years I have used this so many times I've lost count, not just on my bike, but on countless others when their tools proved worthless (most people buy an expensive multitool from a bike shop and never learn how to use it). My only complaint is the plastic is a bit weak, but then I never trust plastic for tire levers, broke too many when I first started riding. Even though I never actually used it for removing tires, the little plastic extension intended to act as a lock on the spoke broke off soon after I bought it. I have a steel set of levers now. The only other complaint is that the plastic levers tend to get loose over time and fall out. This was the only tool I found that had exactly what I wanted to carry on the bike. I do find the spoke tools fairly useless though, as they are too long armed to use for a decent sweep around, but I guess they might be ok in an emergency. And I've never used that torx head, but maybe someday. The chain tool works very well.

Customer Review: Great tool! Covers almost all the bases.

I am a 20 yr bike mechanics veteran and this is the tool I bring with me on long rides. It is well designed and thoughtfully spec'd. It has every allen I need, including the big 8mm for cranks. If you have a relatively modern bike, this will handle most roadside repairs and adjustments handily. I did break one of the tire levers though. Annoying because it is used in conjunction with the chain tool. The chain tool is an excellent one by itself. Overall, awesome multitool. compact, sleek. A touch heavy compared to the mini mini multitools also out there, but functionally this is as good as having a a bag full of shop tools.

Customer Review: A bit heavy, but has it all.
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

Not sure why but recently my chain broke while on the road. Before that happened I never cared about carrying a chain tool. After that, I don't leave home without one. This tool has everything you need to do on the road repairs and adjustments, including the chain tool. It is very well thought out, sturdy, and easy to use. OK, it is a bit heavy, but that is the trade off you'll need to make if you want to be able to fix most of the problems you may encounter on the road. Topeak makes the lighter version without the chain tool so if weight is an issue, that is a good choice too.
