It features a chest strap heart rate monitor, easily accessible function buttons, durable resin case, and comfortable resin strap with a stylish tapered profile. For integrating heart rate monitoring into your training, this watch enables you to continuously track your heart rate during exercise as well as pre-set target heart rate zones with alarms that notify you when you are out of the zone. It also offers an automatic activity timer and a workout review that recalls activity time and average/peak heart rates. This streamlined watch also has a month/day/date display with 12/24-hour time.The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. I LOVE this HRM ... I use it everytime I work out (5 times a week) and have been since I bought it (apx. 1 year ago). It never fails me. I LOVE how the cardio machines pick up the information from the belt! Although the calories burndt on the HRM are different from what the cardio machines say (I am not sure which one is wrong?). I do have a difficult time setting upper end/lower end HR but I need to read the instructions (WHICH are available on line - Yippee). I bought one for my son for a Xmas gift and encourage any of my friends to buy this ... For the price .. you just can't beat it! HAPPY HEART RATE MONITORING!Customer Review: WORKS GREAT!

This HRM is great! This is my first HRM and I would have to say it is a great introductory HRM. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and it was worked excellent.
It always picks up my HR in a few seconds and I have not had a problem with it losing a beat.
Also love how you can set a target zone. (might upgrade later to be able to set more zones.)
The monitor's chest strap is comfortable. I also think the strap looks stronger and better then some of the other reviews made it seem like.
Great product for the money! Great product if it is your first HRM!

Ive had this HRM for over 5 yrs now and its "still ticking"!! Great for accurate HRM at the GYM, easy to read and navigate thru the screens. Also good Calorie counter as well. I have a Garmin Forerunner w/GPS that I use for distance running, but for the Gym, my Timex works just fine. I replace the battery every 6+ months or so (on the strap), havent had to replace batteries on the Watch yet! You can also wear this in the pool, as its waterproof to ~30meters.
Its a little bulky if you are a woman with a small wrist (I have it on the very last hole), but other than that....great watch!

This monitor does everything it says it will do. It works with all the different equipent at my YMCA. THe chest strap is very confortable and easy to put on and off.
The only thing that does not really do any good is the alarms for keeping you in a certain heart beat range for your workout. With all the music and other noise going on around you it would take a bull horn for you to here the beeps the watch puts out. No fault of the watch, just the environment we tend to work out in.
Otherwise this is a great product and much less expensive than what I looked at here.

I purchased the Timex T5G971 Unisex Sports personal heart rate monitor. I love it. The price was very reasonable and it works great. My husband and daughter both have heart rate monitors that they use when they are at the gym. They paid a higher price for their models, but my model offers more options and is easier to use! I read the reviews for this product on the web, and it was based on those reviews that I decided to purchase it. It is definitely a great value for the price!
I will definitely order from Amazon.com again, delivery was quick and payment was easy.
