Description of Timex T5G941 Heart Rate Monitor Watch

Timex entry level heart rate monitor features the basics to get into serious training. Analog transmission, 4-digit time of day display. Single-line display. Recall average, peak and minimum heart rates. Indigo night-light.
The affordable, entry-level Timex T5G941 is great for those just starting out with heart rate monitoring. This digital wristwatch-style monitor continuously tracks your heart rate via a comfortable, elastic chest strap (which fists chest sizes from 25 to 53 inches). The large, easy-to-read display recalls your activity time and average, peak, and minimum heart rate, and it includes 12/24 hour time and month/date display. It also features INDIGLO night light backlighting, up to 2 years of battery life, and is water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet)--enabling it to withstand splashes and accidental dunks into the water, but not suitable for swimming.

Sports reviews of Timex T5G941 Heart Rate Monitor Watch

Customer Review: Timex Heart Rate Monitor
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

This is the best heart rate monitor I have ever owned. It has features that the more expensive monitors don't offer for the price. You can replace the batteries on both the Timex wrist watch and the chest band, something you can't do on the more expensive brands (on the expensive brands, when the battery dies on the chest strap, you throw it out and purchase a complete new set)
Better yet, the Timex chest band works with the wrist watch of the expense brands (I'm not sure why you would want this because the Timex wrist watch has more features).
From now on, I'll buy only Timex Heart Rate Monitors!

Customer Review: Great Simple Device
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I always hesitated on heart rate monitors because of comfort but I recently bought some cycling DVDs that recommended a heart rate monitor for the training sessions so I looked at monitors based on price. I just finished my first bike ride with it and found it very easy to use, not at all uncomfortable, and very accurate as I confirmed the readings several times taking my own pulse. All I was looking for was a basic heart rate monitor that would give me current, average and peak heart rates and this is exactly that - it is a perfect entry-level heart rate monitor that won't set you back some serious change.

Customer Review: Great item and great price
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I wanted to try a heart rate monitor watch and decided to buy the least expensive model I could find that also had good reviews. I'm very satisfied with my choice.

I've had zero problems. It's easy to set up and easy to use. I really like that it will sync up with the cardio machines at the gym as well. (Once it's up and running, the machines automatically pick up the signal. You don't have to do anything.)

This watch doesn't have a lot of special features, but if you just want a basic heart rate monitor watch at a competitive price, I highly recommend this model.

Customer Review: Great, cheap HRM!
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I've been using this HRM for 5 months now, and it works just great. My only complaint is that the chronometer function is tied to the HRM function, so you can't use them separately. On the plus side, this does allow the watch to give you a summary of your workouts (total time, avg HR, max HR). I've had no visibility problems or "cross-talk" problems, but I haven't tried using it in a gym. Also, I'm on the small side, but certainly not tiny, and I have to use the chest strap at its tightest setting to keep it on. However, for the price I couldn't be happier with it.

Customer Review: Simply review
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

Hey folks, I got this HRM for my P90X workouts. What can I say, it's very easy to operate. I like the simplicity of it. It's very easy to set up. It gives me my heart rate and that's what I need it for. It's made by Timex, so you know it's a quality product. One quick tip, the back of the chest strap monitor needs to have a little water applied to it for it to start working. I dab it with a wet sponge to get it going, after that, I provide plenty of sweat to keep it going! lol Great product!

(It's water proof so feel free to workout hard)
