This digital wristwatch-style monitor continuously tracks your heart rate via a comfortable, elastic chest strap (which fists chest sizes from 25 to 53 inches). The large, easy-to-read display recalls your activity time and average, peak, and minimum heart rate, and it includes 12/24 hour time and month/date display. It also features INDIGLO night light backlighting, up to 2 years of battery life, and is water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet)--enabling it to withstand splashes and accidental dunks into the water, but not suitable for swimming.

I have had this Monitor for about 6 months and could be happier. I am in my senior years and use the monitor for x-c sking, roller blading, and biking. It is always acturate and gives you a good break down of your basic heart rate workout information.
Yes, you could buy a much more expensive heart rate monitor which gives you all that unnecessary information about your heart, but if you just want to know how your heart is ticking, then Timex is your best choice.
One little negative is that if you buy from Amazon, it does take 4-6 weeks for delivery. Really!! Best to order when things are quiet.

This is my first heart rate monitor. I wasn't sure about the chest strap, but I didn't like the description of the difficulties of using the units that required placing fingers on the watch for pulse measurement. I like having continuous measurement, and getting the strap wet enough to work isn't a problem. I also like having the readings show up automatically on the equipment in the gym.
I'm sure there are features in more expensive models that I would like, like memory of previous sessions; however, this does what I wanted for a price I was willing to pay (and batteries are user replaceable, which suits me too).

Just got it; love it.Total cost w S&H for about $40.00. Directions are easy...even for me. (I fear most gizmo/gadgets other than those having anything to do with cooking...love my Foreman grill, pressure cooker,food processors, etc...)I had this HR puppy tracking my BPM in less than 15 minutes from delivery. The Watch is extremely comfortable/hardly know you are wearing it. The face numbers are easy to read, chest monitor transmitr is lightweight/barely noticible...I did a 50 min workout...no problem. Just two buttons...on/off and Start. Excellent for the price. I purchased this Timex watch because I do a lot of running and DVD work outs and wanted to track my heart rate. This watch is great because the digital readout it large enough where I don't have to stop to look at it, I can see it while still moving. To date, the watch is very accurate and does nearly everything I need it to do, plus the price and shipping time were extremely wonderful! Setup is very easy and the watch and heart rate strap are both comfortable and don't bother me while I'm working out. One feature that I would love to have is the calorie counter, but overall, I'm more than satisfied with my purchase.Customer Review: GREAT - so far.....

I bought this product for myself not to long ago and have used it sparingly. With the new year, I've pretty much used it every day for some intense workouts, and have no problem.
It's very simple to use and the chest strap sits comfortably around your torso (not too tight).
I have not had a bad experience with a Timex product yet. The only way the products seem to not last is by my own abuse - I've accidently smashed a couple watches on a doorknob or basketball goal post.
Overall, would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a simple, reliable heart-rate monitor.
