This is an excellent quality product by Timex. It works seamlessly with my heart rate monitor and GPS 3D units similtaneously. It comes with a lanyard with secure small clamp on the end and belt clip so it can be attached to any item of clothing. Operating it is simple compared to the watches! uploading to the software is even easier! Which gives clear information on a number of different parameters.
If I were to list any drawbacks in the product there would be two however they are very inconsiquential. For those who really want to know please read on.
The vast majority of people will be happy to read the first drawback- the fact that it is light and compact- I have found I am constantly checking that it is still attached when out running!
The second and relatively more serious drawback is that the Timex files are .CSV and I have found the majority of websites allow the importing of .GPX files not .CSV files. Again this is no major issue as there are a number of other websites that convert .CSV files into .GPX files.
So as noted earlier these are not credible issues and I would strongly recommend this product to anybody thinking of buying one.
You wont regret it.
Description of Timex T5G751 Data Recorder 2
Simultaneously collects heart rate, speed and distance data from the Timex Digital Heart Rate Sensor and Timex GPS 3D Sensor. Navigational data includes altitude, elevation, latitude and longitude (requires Timex GPS 3D sensor to capture navigational data). Includes Timex Trainer software and USB cable. Compatible with Timex Ironman models: T5J985, T5F011, T5G311, T5E691, T5E701, T5F001, T5C401, T5C411, T59751, T59761Use the Timex Data Recorder 2 (model T5G751) to collect heart rate and GPS speed & distance data from Timex heart rate sensors and then send it to your PC to track your training on the included Timex Trainer software. It records multiple workouts and collects navigational data such as altitude, elevation, latitude and longitude. (It requires the use of Timex GPS 3D Sensor to capture navigational data.) It clips on or slips into your pocket, has up to a 2-year battery life, and comes with a USB cable.
The Timex Trainer software automatically uploads and logs workout data, generates graphs and calculates summaries. It's easy to use with web-based coaching and mapping services. It's compatible with Microsoft Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, and XP operating systems.
