Sports reviews of Timex Ironman T59751 Midsize 30-Lap Digital Fitness Heart Rate Monitor WatchCustomer Review: Great purchase! Worth it! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
After much research, I recently purchased this item @ Amazon. I am very pleased! Light weight, small, and stylish. More importantly, it is VERY functional, easy to use (yes!) and worth the buy! I am an avid exerciser and wanted a new monitor that was accurate, user friendly and small, to assist heart rate monitoring while pregnant. This brand/model lives up to that-and I can change my own battery when needed-unlike the Polar. I have found it to be pretty accurate so far-testing it during a number of activities. This monitor seems to accurately reflect the change in heart rate-both while at rest and while exercising when pregnant (vs. not pregnant), and changes in response to activity level quite readily. Also, it has just enough information/functions, without bogging me down, and displays the information nicely-helpful while trying to read when running. Plus, the watch looks like a watch and can be worn all the time. I am glad I went with the Timex. So far it is living up to the reviews and Timex reputation. It fulfills all that I was looking for in a heart rate monitor and more. Excellent buy for the money!!
Customer Review: No problems Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I train for triathlons with the watch and heart rate monitor. I've replaced the battery in the chest strap with no problems (it's so easy to open the case I used a key). Both the watch band and the chest strap are perfect after hundreds of hours of use. I like the way the lap mode display my laps. There's a review mode that shows you your lap number and time as well as your heart rate on that lap. The watch is midsize to my eyes so it could be considered unisex. All other functions are standard Timex Ironman. It's functioned perfectly for me and held up to quite a beating by now.

11/02/2007: I had to write a post script to my review. Ironically, shortly after I wrote my review the monitor konked out on me. I think there's a short in the chest strap. I would have expected it to last longer than that and I'm revising my review to two stars. Next time I'll try Polar.
Customer Review: Nice, convenient, functional Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
Just some additional comments not mentioned by other reviewers. The strap constitutes one whole unit with the device. This creates a cool look and adds robustness. On the downside, no more changing the strap, but this need is highly unlikely. Also the small additional strap (around the main one - it has some special name, but I don't know it) is conveniently fixed at the free end of the main strap and thus never moves during a workout.
However, be aware that the watch is rather small (though not thin). It looks larger on the image. This is quite fine for ladies or for somewhat skinny guys like me, but might look too small for a "real man".
From the functional side it is worth to mention the presence of both '+' and '-' buttons in any setup or review mode. Indispensable when you need to reduce, let's say, the alarm time by 5 minutes.
Customer Review: Good heart rate monitor Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This is my first heart rate monitor. Very pleased so far. I have a small wrist (approx 5" circumference) and this is the right size. Anything bigger, the face would have wrapped around my wrist. I like the watch so much that I wear it everywhere even if the watch doesn't match my business casual attire. It wasn't difficult to use the features, but I had to read the manual to get my workout 'review'. I knew I had to do some reading, because I like the timer and the workout summary at the end of my workout. I still have not programmed my personal settings for max heart rate. I would recommend this product.
Customer Review: Great HR monitor! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This is a great HR monitor -- the midsized watch unit is smaller than many competitor's models, making it much more comfortable to wear. The software is intuitive. In addition to the standard features you would expect (average HR, minimum HR, time in zone, calorie count for workout), the unit ALSO records peak HR, average heart rate for splits/laps along with split/lap time, and calculates calorie use for all effort levels (vs. some Polar HR monitors which only calculate calorie use at higher activity levels). All at a very affordable price.
