Sports reviews of Thermos steel 2 qt bottleCustomer Review: very good thermos Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I purchased mine, in 1994. It has been a very reliable hot coffee container. I pretreat it, in the morning, with boiling water, for 5-10 minutes. I work in an area with very little heat, during the winter, and from starting work, at 6 a.m. until quitting time, 2:30, the coffee reamins hot. Not boiling hot, but just hot enough, for the drive home. After 13 years of loyal use, the grab/carry handle finally broke, where it attaches to the top of the thermos. I guess the one drawback, is that there is no way to replace that part of it. So, I either have to purchase a new one, or use the nylon strap that came with it. Another problem that I encountered, is the screw top. It has two arrows, that are barely visible. I have taken a black and red magic maker, and outlined the arrows, thus allowing me to see where the arrows are, and therby see that I only have to turn the top once for the coffee to pour out.
Customer Review: Really effective for hot liquids Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I recently lost mine and replaced it with a different model, also Thermos brand, and now I really appreciate how good my old one was. I drink hot tea all day and since I am drinking out of the outer cap/cup, it really matters to me how well it keeps heat in with only the inner cap on. This one has a relatively deep screw-top portion (it takes several turns to take it off completely), and it is well-fitted. A model that doesn't have these qualities will have a wobbly top that splashes more when you pour, and not as a good a seal, so it loses heat faster.
I had my good one for seven years and it was still working perfectly. I am going to purchase this one again even though I just bought another one and the shipping cost seems high, since my local shops don't seem to stock this model in-store for some mysterious reason. It really is that much better.

The best thermos I've ever had.
The handle folds flush with the unit for easy travelling and the shoulder strap comes in handy when both hands are doing something else.
It has a twist and pour feature which means you dont have to remove the stopper to pour. Just turn the stopper about 1/2 a turn. Makes for controlled pouring and prevents unnecessary loss of heat (don't forget to tighten the stopper when you're done).
Quality and workmanship is excellent. The stopper and cup both screw/unscrew smoothly and the thermos appears darn near indestructable.
It keeps my coffee piping hot for 8hrs easily.
The 2 quart model more practical than the 34oz models that seem so popular. 2 quarts is more than enough to hold a full pot of coffee.
Customer Review: Awesome!!! Ice Cubes LOL! muhahaha Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
Well as for the ice cubes I couldn't help but laugh at that until I worked up some tears but anyway that review actually convinced me to go buy this container. I can fill it about 1/2 full of coffee, (1/2 gallon would be way too much for little ol me) and I'll drink half of this in the AM and half after work. I love the design however it can be a little tricky to opent he inside lid cause it really is thin and small, however once I got used to it it's no problem at all. The design is way way cool and the handle snaps flat against the side of the container. I would give this an overall 9.9 out of 10. Why not 10? I dunno, I guess nothing is absolutely perfect but this is close!
Customer Review: Does the job Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I have a one-liter version in addition to this two-liter one. Without its top, the 2L jar is 13 inches tall. With its top, it is 14 inches.
Either will keep ice solid for two days if left alone. You can put conventional ice cubes through the top if you melt the cubes for a few seconds (two or three) in water first. If one gets stuck in the top, pour a little water over it, slowly. Another hint: you can clean a Thermos innard pretty well with an effervescent denture cleanser tablet.
... Over a year after I wrote that review, I can tell you that this is the King of Thermoses. I am very glad that I bought it.
