I've been having terrible calf strain from running and other various activities. I got the stick for Christmas and it has been amazing! The best time to use it is directly after exercising to get the lactic acid moving to help prevent sore muscles. I also take it into the shower with me and use it after I've been in about 10-15 minutes (or warm up my muscles with a heating pad prior to rolling). I wouldn't use this on "cold" muscles. All-in-all it is a great product. This stick is AMAZING. The travel size is big enough, the larger size isn't needed. I'm amazed at how this stick improves flexibility. In everyone I've seen try this they've improved their flexibility. Try this: Sit in a pike and reach for your toes, remember how far you can reach. Roll your calves, hamstring, and quads, then reach again. Everyoen I've seen can stretch 2-6 inched further with the stick!!! It's great for therapy for torn or pulled muscles, or for restless leg syndrome, or for loosening leg muscles to help with back issues.Customer Review: The Stick Travel Stick

The Travel Stick is an excellent massage tool, especially for quads and IT band... so useful and portable too. Took it to a Yoga workshop week.. and it came in handy for releasing muscle tightness. I recently had a hip replacement and my leg muscles need constant deep massage to get them back working again. The Stick is a great help as a self massage tool. It was recommended to me by my acupuncturist. Thank you

I have seen booths where they were hawking these and stayed away. After pulling my calf muscle during a run my niece had me try her Marathon stick. It worked fantastic. I picked up the travel stick and use it after every bike ride. I brought it in to work and a couple co-workers liked it so much they also bought it.(she uses it on her daughter for growing pains) Seems strange to pay $30 for a plastic stick but hey, it works!Customer Review: Cheaper than a massage therapist, and just as effective

I had tried one of these at an adventure race, but never got around to finding/buying one. I did so prior to a recent 12 hour Mountain Bike race. I bought both the longer and compact version, but prefer the shorter one. Excellent for endurance athletes to crunch the quads, hammies and calfs and keep it all loose. I get lots of massages, but in between and daily maintenance is great with "the stick" - Highly Recommended
