Description of The Go PlateThe solution for networking, tailgating, wedding parties .... eat, drink and move about freely while eating and drinking. Same plate works with standard bottles, cans, & cups. The Go Plate is the answer to mobile socializing. Hold your plate and drink in one hand easily, then eat, greet, and cheer with the other hand. They're perfect for tailgating, picnics, outdoor concerts, street fairs and more. The Go Plate has a specially engineered center cone that accommodates glass bottles and aluminum cans, resting comfortably and snugly around them, and it has a specially designed ridge that can also accommodate standard 16/18-ounce plastic cups. To enjoy your beverage, you just lift The Go Plate off.
The Go Plate can be used with bottles, cans, and standard 16/18-ounce plastic cups. | Go Plates are made of sturdy RPET (the same plastic used with water and other clear bottles) and are recyclable. Additionally, you can re-use your Go Plates, as they can be hand washed or placed in the dishwasher (top rack safe). To "operate" a Go Plate, simply select a drink and place it under the plate. - If it is a bottle, push it through the top opening. It is now secure for eating off the plate. Lift plate off to drink, replace, repeat until you are full.
- If it is a can, take your free hand, and push the plate cone down until the can meets the underneath side of the cone opening. It is now secure for eating off the plate. To drink, twist the can and the plate in opposite directions to lift the plate off the can.
- If is it a cup, carefully rest the plate on the cup, securing the top lip of the cup in one of 3 sets of ridges under the cone meant to provide a point to balance the plate on the cup. Push to snap into place for more stable eating. Unsnap to drink, replace plate, repeat until you are full.
Sports reviews of The Go PlateCustomer Review: Expensive one use OR flimsey reuse item = junk Sport shop rating: 2 Stars
We bought these to have around for summer grilling. Seemed like a fun thing to try. Because I either spill my drink or put it down and lose it when trying to make a plate of food at a buffet. Also, we are trying to reduce our waste and wanted something reusable. But I am disappointed with the product overall.
I think that when I first put them on my wish list they came in more colors than "clear", but that could just be a wishful memory. Anyway, the clear color makes them look like a 100% disposable product (that costs $1 each!!!). We had a big party and ended up fishing many of these out of the trash for reuse.
And these are not OK in our dishwasher. They spotted like crazy (we do not have a problem with water spots on glass). And even on the top shelf the plates ended up warped a little and will not restack neatly. Making storage a mess and product look very dingy.
After all this, it will be better for our house to use them at small parties (10ish people or less), where it is easier to collect and wash up.
I would not buy these plates again, or recommend them to a friend. Maybe I'll get one of those beer can holding hard hats instead....
Customer Review: Oops!! Sport shop rating: 1 Stars
At first I thought it would be a great idea at the party, but then came the reality of the obvious fault behind this product. After a couple beers I forgot to disengage the plate from the beer when I was thirsty. Right, I kept spilling the food on me when I would take a swig. Oh well, live and learn!! Nudge, nudge, wink, wink......
