This set was my introduction to The Firm. Although I heard rave reviews about The Firm's workouts , I admit I was still scared as I also heard they were pretty tough. Prior to purchasing this, I was partial to Leslie Sansone's Walk Away The Pounds series. Although I achieved some weight loss success, the workouts began to become too easy for me. I decided I needed to bump my workouts up a notch and purchased The Firm BSS1.
I don't really want to go into much detail about what each workout entails as many reviewers have done so already, but let me just say that these workouts will not disappoint! I went beyond the notch I initially intended! The results I've experienced while using this series are nothing short of amazing!
I started while undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer, Hodgkin's Lymphoma to be exact. My oncology physician encouraged me to start exercising so as to aid me throughout my treatment. I started out with the 3, 5, and 8 pound weights. Needless to say, it was rough in the beginning, but I decided I wouldn't give up and I'm glad I didn't as it's the kind of reward that just keeps paying off! I've gained strength and stamina. I've also noticed the difference in my arms, shoulders, my torso, my abs, my core in general, my glutes, and my legs! Oh, goodness, don't eeeven get me started on my legs! I'd long ago just accepted the inner thigh flab as a sad part of my life that I was never going to get rid of, but that is sooo not the case anymore, thanks to the many lunges, dips, squats, and the infamous 3-in-1 leg press, which I pretty much have a long-standing hate/love relationship with!
While my kids have noticed my energy increase, my husband has noticed my... well, you know. ~he he he~ I highly encourage anyone and everyone to purchase this set. I think we all owe it to ourselves to make an investment in our health and in ourselves, because we're worth it! Hell, I know I am! Let's bring sexy back!

Featuring the FIRM signature method of cardio weight training, this kit includes the multi-functional FIRM 3-in-1 platform and 3 FIRM workouts on one DVD. The platform consists of a 6" and 8" segments that combine to 14" inches to deliver the ultimate body toning workoutShape, tone, and strengthen your body without heading to the gym day after day with the Firm's body sculpting system. Equipped with a multifunction three-in-one stair-step platform and a multi-workout DVD, the kit will melt away the fat and reshape your body in no time. The durable plastic stair-step platform is a terrific exercise accessory, with a three-level, no-slip platform that adjusts from 6 to 8 to 14 inches. As a result, it's easy to vary the difficulty and intensity of your workout.
The DVD, meanwhile, includes three different workouts to keep you fit and inspired. Hosted by Firm Master Instructor Allie DelRio Pointer, the Cardio Sculpt workout combines several cardio and body shaping routines, resulting in a single awesome body. Pointer will have you burning fat, building lean muscle, and creating your very own personal masterpiece throughout this 55-minute workout. Master Instructor Jennifer Carman hosts the 45-minute Body Sculpt workout, which features a scientifically sequenced series of strength-building exercises designed to work your upper and lower body fast. The workout will turn you into a strong fat-burning machine from top to bottom. Finally, the Ab Sculpt workout proves that getting flat abs can actually be fun. Master Instructor Lisa Kay leads you through this 25-minute workout, which teaches you the perfect exercises for strengthening, toning, and stretching your entire core. Kay also demonstrates the proper form and breathing technique for each exercise.
The Firm body sculpting system also comes with a rotational guide and eating calendar, which includes 30 days of exercises, 30 days of meal plans and recipes, and a series of motivational tips.
