Sports reviews of Teeter Hang Ups Gravity BootsCustomer Review: Invert Comfortably Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
I got these along with the conversion bar for use with my teeter inversion table. I am getting over a broken foot so the stock method that the teeter inversion tables use just hurt my foot too much to use so I figured the boots were the way to go and so far I'm not disappointed.
First off these things are very comfortable. Ive used a body-solid brand of boots and these are far more cushioned and comfortable than they were. The key is to get them adjusted right when you use them. They don't need to be tight at all, just snug and they are great. So for comfort they get an A+.
Ive seen reviews that say these boots don't fit larger than average lower legs. I really don't get this, I have decent sized calves and they fit easily. I cant imagine how big your lower legs would have to be to make these too small but I will just point out that there's a weight limit on these and if they are too small you might want to check out the scale and make sure you can use these safely at your weight.
A few negatives. First off the things sort of feel cheap. They are just plastic and I guess to hang upside down Id of felt a little better to see some metal parts on there. The body-solid boots seem a lot more durable in that regard, the hooks and the fasteners are both metal and it gives more confidence in the durability. On these the hooks are plastic, the body is plastic, the fasteners, they just don't inspire a lot of confidence. I'm sure they will hold up because they aren't going to sell something that wouldn't but Id just say there's more durable options out there.
Overall I'm happy with them, they are comfortable enough to feel no discomfort while inverting and that's the idea. I use them with an inversion table with the conversion bar but I'm sure they are just as good with any of the bars they sell to hang on.
Customer Review: Teeter Hang Ups are pretty nice! Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
I just got these boots a few weeks back after doing some research for an inversion machine and realized these would exactly fit my needs/wants without taking alot of my cash and alot of exercise room space. I had a pre-existing pullup bar which was situated next to the I-beam in my basement and these boots fit PERFECTLY over the bar. So to use the boots I simply grab onto the I-beam and swimg my feet up to the pull-up bar and hook on then let myself down, and when I'm done I pull myself back up to the I-beam to hold on while unhooking. The boots themselves are great. Lightweight but feel very study. My only disappointment is that the calf support don't seem to do much, and the foam around where the front of your foot hits the boot while hanging could be thicker/softer. After hanging for a few mins if I go totally relaxed the front of my foot hurts a bit. I guess i could tighten the boots more so that my foot doesn't hit the boot at all.
All in all its a great product and I would recommend them to anyone wanting an inversion machine but doesn't want to pay the price or give up the space necessary for a full inversion machine, although my method does require you have the stength to pull yourself up to unhook yourself.
Customer Review: Definitely helps with the bulging disc Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
Work as advertised, and seem sturdy, with thick, firm cushioning...for those looking to stretch your spine to alleviate back pain associated w/bulging discs, I can say they definitely help.
However, the removable calf loops seem like just a gimmick...they don't create any bend in the knees...they don't do anything, other than get in the way when putting the boots on and taking them off.
Also, even with the thick cushioning, there is most definitely some strain placed on the ankles...took me a week or two to get used to that, but if you have weak ankles, or a low tolerance for discomfort, you'll probably want to just go for the inversion table.
Customer Review: Makes my fat hang the other way! Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
These boots are great! They appear to be pretty well constructed and I have no concerns about the workmanship. They definitely take some getting used to and I highly recommend wearing thick socks and sneakers when first using them. I am now using them comfortably with just a pair of socks.
It is difficult to describe the effect these have on your back as it is subtle yet incredibly effective. Staying inverted in these for as little as five minutes right before bed is enough to guarantee waking up with no tension in my back.
A worthwhile investment in my opinion!
Customer Review: Good product Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
Overall, I am happy with this product. They are a little uncomfortable around the ankles, but what do you expect. But, I am finding that they are getting more comfortable as times goes on, I am re-sizing the fit each time to find a best fit. So far, I am seeing that if you have the ankle strap tighter and the calf strap a little looser, it feels more comfortable. So, if you buy this product, make sure you play around with the straps to get the best fit. I recommend this product - just wish it was a little more affordable.
