I have had ongoing back problems for the past 30+ years. I have spent thousands on Chiropractors, Dr's MRI's physical therapy, injections etc. all of which gave temporary relief. At no time was there a clear diagnosis of what the problem was and it seemed that I was going to end up with some kind of surgery. I started to do research on my own and came across inverson tables. A friend had one not in use and let me borrow it. It was an off brand purchased from a sporting goods store and although it worked okay, it was incredably uncomfortable. I used it for about two weeks and despite the uncomfort, I started to notice a real difference in my pain level. It's getting better. At this point I figured I had nothing to loose and started to look for a purchase of my own. The reviews lead me to a Teeter and I purchased the EP-550. The assembly was no big deal and as others have said it is heavy (I prefer well built)but having been on a cheaper one, I appreciated the sturdyness and space was not an issue to where I would have to store it and then get it out to use. I've had it now for six weeks and use it every day. The difference in how I feel is markedly improved and continues to improve. For the first time in years, my back pain has all but gone away. I'm not saying it's a miracle because I still have my bad days but I'm able to get past them much quicker using the table. Others have mentioned the discomfort in the ankles but for me it's not a big deal. Inverting for 3-5 min a day is tolerable. I ordered this for my husband who has 2 herniated discs in his lower back from an injury about 4 months ago. He has tried physical therapy, multiple pain medications, muscle relaxants, heating pads, ice packs, and even acupuncture. Despite all of these modalities, he was unable to even sit in a car to drive to work or sit at the kitchen table to eat dinner. He spent most of his time at home lying on the floor with an ice pack on his back because lying flat was the only position in which he could get relief. He was desperate for pain relief so I figured we had nothing to lose by trying out the Teeter. It arrived on a Friday afternoon and was pretty easy to assemble, even though the box was super heavy. I had my brother put it together so my husband wouldn't have to lift that heavy box. He started out inverting 30 degrees for 5 minutes twice a day. Within 2 days, he was able to sit down for a meal at the kitchen table and ride in the car for about 30 minutes. He upped the inversion angle to 60 degrees and continued with inverting for 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening. It has now been a week, and he is back to driving every day as well as sitting on the sofa or at the table just like a normal person again. Best of all, he hasn't taken a single pain medication since he got the Teeter. He calls it his wonder machine because it has given him his life back again. this is a tough, well-constructed, durable product that gives you confidence every step of the way that: (1) it will support you when you are inverted; (2) it will not tip over; (3)that it will last a life-time;and (4) that is is strong and durable. it has done wonders for my back and neck. Can't understand why this type product is not in every physical therapists office in the world due to its ability to heal trauma to the head, neck and spine. Improves circulation and streches out tight connective tissue. My only minor complaint was that it took me over 2 hours to assemble. thank god it came with video/cd instructions cause i could not easily understand the written instructions(but I am not mechanically inclined!) However, once it was together( and there are not that many pieces to assemble)it is a joy to use. if you have back, neck and spine problems, try it! the price is less than 2 visits to the orthopaedic doctor! And I received free shipping from amazon.[PS: as a personal injury trial lawyer i have taken the depositions of hundreds of physicians including neurologists, neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons regarding trauma and injury. Aside from traditional forms of rehabilitation, other than risky surgery they have no answers/solutions. So before you undergo irreversible back/neck/spine surgery of any kind, my advice is to try every other safe option...because once they use the knife, there is no healing from a failed surgery].Customer Review: Great for a bad back

I was somewhat skeptical when I ordered this board whether it would help my back or not. I am periodically bothered by back problems that are either sciatica or something closely resembling it. When it hits it has always taken at least six weeks of physical inactivity and stretching to relieve the pain, and the ache would linger for months. When I felt the latest bout of this condition begin, I ordered this board. I can truthfully say that after using the board for one week, five minutes a day, the pain and any sign of the condition had disappeared. I live alone so I do not fully invert, but the last setting using the safety harness was enough to provide me relief. I only use it two or three times a week now, but have not had a recurrence of the back problem in the four months since buying the board. The one time relief was enough to justify buying the board, and any future aid in relieving or preventing the sciatica will be gravy for me. I am beginning to believe that periodic use may hopefully prevent the condition from coming back. I bought the Teeter board because I am 64 years old and weigh 250 lbs. I feel very secure on this board and if I had someone around when I was using it I would have no hesitation in going fully inverted. The sensation when you first use the board takes some getting used to, but once you develop trust in the board that feeling goes away.Customer Review: AWESOME!!!

This product is AMAZING!!! First of all, it arrived extremely quickly. My son (in college) put it together while I was away at work --he had no problems assembling it. The week it arrived was one of THE most stressful weeks of work for me. I tried the Teeter Hang Up for the first time after arriving home on a Thursday evening after a "very long" week. ALL MY STRESS MELTED AWAY --like MAGIC!!! I felt refreshed, invigorated, renewed, & actually HAPPY again! I'm now "addicted" to using the Teeter. I invert before heading out to work, also do in the evening, & randomly during the day on the weekends. My son, a highly trained athlete, is also benefiting & likes it a lot, too. After less than a week of using the Teeter Hang Up, I already feel very much "aligned" & have more energy than ever before. After reading all the reviews, I'm confident that I made the right decision in purchasing this model & brand for an Inversion Table. Some of the other brands that were cheaper, lacked cushions for your feet & were made from inferior materials. But, cushions for the feet are essential --I cannot imagine hanging upside-down without them. The foot bars on this model are very well cushioned & it is totally comfortable to do with the Teeter Hang Up. All in all, this Inversion Table is AWESOME & cannot recommend enough! "Everybody" needs to start hanging upside-down!!!
