I absolutely love my new Tablemate II. It is the most versatile and useful table alternative I have ever owned and used. I love coming up with new ways to use it. Reading, writing, dining, drawing, you name it, it can play it.
Here is the most innovative way I have thought of using Tablemate. Instead of positioning the legs facing you, turn them around backwards. This position is perfect for use in the back seat of a car.
If you need a table for anything, but don't want how cumbersome an ordinary table can be, Tablemate is the answer. It can hold up to fifty pounds.

I am in no way connected with the makers or sellers of Table Mate. As for them being listed several times, by several companies selling them, if you'd searched on Amazon much you'd find that is common. As for the few negative reviews the only thing I can figure is they're talking about Table Mate I (which I've never tried) or some other brand completely. I've had the Table Mate II for at least 2 years and use it daily for my laptop and occassionally for eating on. It certainly can be set perfectly flat. I wouldn't recommend leaning heavily on it but I rest my hands/arms on my laptop while I type all the time (like now) without a problem. It has held up superbly to my abuse. I'm extremely happy I purchased this and am planning on buying a couple more as gifts (one for my fiance who likes and really wants one like mine).

My family loves to take our dinner in the living room and watch a good movie together, but we have had problems and the Table Mate has helped to sovle them. I don't know about you but I have had my battles with my legs having no room while using TV tables and bending half-way over to reach my plate on my coffee table while sitting in a very uncomfortable position.
We needed a solution and this product gave us that; I think the concept of Table Mate is great. Yes, perhaps the construction doesn't match the price which I do feel is a little steep, but the table gives you room, comfort and ease which is a real plus. I feel the product does what it says it will and does it well and certainly has made our TV room dinner/movie time a much more pleasant experience.

Initially, I bought 2 Tablemates out of curiousity. I liked it so much over the last 2 years I bought 12 more and gave them out as gifts. When I just reviewed other people's comments I couldn't believe that anyone would find fault with this product. I actually read all those reviews because recently I started having problems with the table not sliding smoothly. I wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem. If so, see what they did to fix it. Nobody mentioned it. My daughter suggested maybe I should have left the plastic sleeves on the legs. Well, if anyone does have this problem, I found that waxing the surface that touches the floor helps. I still think it's a great product.
