Been eyeballing this for a few months with much skepticism, and then I received one for Christmas. I work on the computer for much of the day (programmer by trade), and I work part of the time in the living room in front of the TV on a couch. A TV tray provides a good stable surface, and an eventual pain in the back, as there is no comfortable position in which to sit on a couch and work on a laptop.
And then there's the Table Mate II. I adjusted the height to my liking, sat down on the couch (leaning back comfortably), and _easily_ slid the table mate into myself. I have no back pain any longer while I work, and I still have a stable surface on which to work. I eat dinner on it and it cleans easily, and have no plans to go back to a traditional tv tray anytime soon.
I first mentioned the idea of the table mate to my roommate about 3 or 4 months ago and asked if he'd be interested in using one (tv ad listed it as a "buy 2, get 1 free" deal), and he said "why? I have a tv tray!" I'm happy to report that after a few days of use by me, he finally ate crow and asked where he could get it ... his Table Mate II will be arriving in the next couple days!
I have not placed a 50 pound bottle of water on top of the tray (as advertised), but then I really don't want to ... I will say that I have momentarily placed a stack of old text books on it, 10 or so weighing approximately 20-25 pounds, and it held up with no problems!
Sure, I got this for free, but it's great enough for me to want to buy a second one for a guest!

I ordered the white Table Mate II, which has 3 tilt positions and 6 different height positions, and I love it. It took less than 5 minutes to assemble. Some reviewers have complained that it is wobbly. Yes, it is wobbly compared to, say, a sturdy wooden dining room table, but this is an inexpensive, portable, plastic and metal tv table - of course it's wobbly. It is NOT so wobbly that you have to worry it will spill your drink, collapse as you cut the food on your plate, or dump your laptop on the floor, and that's all that matters, in my opinion. The table is light and the legs slide easily on my carpet. It's not too difficult to adjust the height or tilt - for height adjustments you do have to turn the table backwards or on its side so you can reach the adjustment pegs, but they are not hard to push and changing the height only takes a minute. Adjusting the tilt is even easier - snap the table top out, then snap it in again. The fact that the legs slide under your couch or chair is the best part - no need to perch on the edge of your seat just so you can reach your food/computer/whatever. When I bought my table it came directly from Amazon so I had no problems with 3rd party sellers, and it arrived 2 days after I ordered it. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a tv table or laptop table!Customer Review: Perfect for Laptops!

I saw the ad on TV and knowing that you can get crappy stuff from such commercials, I was skeptical. But, I went ahead and ordered it anyways.
I ordered it on last Monday, and I got it this evening. I did not order the Table Mate from Amazon/Discount Jungle. I ordered it from another website instead.
It was easy to assemble, no tools. The main reason for me purchasing the table was for my laptop. The laptop was getting to hot for my knees for a long period of time. The table is perfect for laptops. The adjustable legs is great, you can get it low as you prefer and the table is horizontal. You can pull the table as close to you as you want. I am sitting on an old lounge chair, not a recliner. The legs go right under the chair so they are not in the way. I have ample leg room. Nothing to block them as old tv trays used to do.
For my purposes, the table is sturdy. The table is hard plastic with a rim. My laptop doesn't slide. I wouldn't put 50lbs on it. The directions said not to put anything over 50lbs on it. I don't plan to.
You can easily slide the table away from you and walk away from it. As the ads say, you can pull the table to you with one finger. Yep, tried it.
Overall, the best Televised product I have ordered.

I ordered two of these to see how I like them. I will be ordering more. No, they aren't rock solid, but I didn't expect them to be. They will not fall or collapse in normal use and they will work well for any use they are advertised as being designed for. They are vastly superior to the old TV trays that I remember from my childhood. They are larger, far more sturdy, and more stable. On my carpet they glide smoothly. The ones I have will lock into place level, so those who had that complaint evidently got some bad ones. I do not know what the setting that angles the table top away from the person using it would be for, but the one that angles it in the direction of the user would be ideal for a laptop computer. The ledge around the outside is reasonable-- it is low without being too low and it is smooth and rounded on top. They are assembled quickly, without any tools. If you are looking for a solid piece of furniture then you need to look at furniture, but if you are looking for something suitable for eating at the couch while watching TV or for using a laptop this should work beautifully. I don't know if it would be usable for writing-- it can wobble, as one would expect, but I see no problem with it otherwise.Customer Review: Affordable Table That Adjust To Many Heights&Angles
