Customer Review: A worthwhile upgrade for the A-5

The E-Grip allows you to upgrade your rate of fire through five various modes. The product description speaks for its benefits, which are many.
A few words of caution:
1) The firing modes are changed by sticking a small allen wrench or screwdiver through a hole in the grip (you can see it in the picture below the trigger guard). Thus, you can't change it on the fly.
2) The gun will not fire if the E-Grip is off - there's no manual backup.
3) You do NOT want to get it wet (it is, after all, an ELECTRONIC-Grip).
As long as you keep these in mind, the E-Grip is definitely a worthwhile investment, and it doesn't used any CO2 or compressed air (a la the Response Trigger), leading to more shots per fill (as long as you keep a fresh 9V battery in there).
Description of TIPPMANN E-Grip Electronic Upgrade Kit (For A-5 Paintball Markers)
Intoducing the All New E-Grip, Electronic Grip System. The E-Grip system uses an electronic control board to activate a selenoid. When activated, the selenoid disengages the sear, which in turn fires the marker. The System is powered by a concealed 9 Volt Battery. All electronic componets are completely contained inside the grip, which allows you to quickly and easily change grips.Upgrade your Tippmann paintball marker and get improved firing on the field with the E-Trigger Electronic Upgrade Kit. It features five firing modes (semi-automatic, auto-response, full automatic, three-shot burst, and turbo) that can be changed in seconds for rapid 15 rounds/second firing. This grip fits the Tippmann A-5 paintball marker. It's backed by a 90-day warranty on missing or defective parts. It's powered by a 9-volt battery (not included).
