Description of Swede-O Plantar Fasciitis Night Splint, Gray
The Swede-O Deluxe Padded Night Splint is designed to provide relief during the night from the pain and discomfort of plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis. Swede-O Deluxe Padded Night Splint allows the patient to apply a consistent 90 degree angle stretch to the plantar fasciitis by holding the foot in a gentle dorsiflexion. A removable foam wedge insert is included for an additional 5 degree stretch on the plantar fascia. Designed to be worn during sleep or rest to help relieve pain from plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis. The soft gray padded cover provides patient comfort and protection against skin irritation. May be used on either foot. Gray in color.- Sized according to shoe size as follows:
- Small for Mens shoe sizes 5-6 & Womens 4-6 ?
- Medium for Mens shoe sizes 6 ?-7 ? & Womens 7-8
- Large for Mens shoe sizes 8-9 1/2 & Womens 8 1/2-10
- X-Large for Mens shoe sizes 10-12 1/2 & Womens 10 1/2-12
- XX-Large for Mens shoe sizes 13+ and Womens 12 1/2+.

Customer Review: Confortable but not long lasting

This is very comfortable at night and maybe if I had purchased it in a smaller size it would have lasted a bit more? I have been using this for about 3 months now and the wear on the boot is noticeable. The parts still work right but, overall, the boot is stretched and it's hard for me to keep the heel in place overnight - I can feel the heel sliding up to compensate for the toes pointing up and, in my sleep, I am constantly adjusting the boot so the heel is where it's supposed to be.
The splint WORKS as far as alleviating the pain in the morning. Both feet are affected, so I purchased a different brand splint for the other foot and I alternate them at night. This one is the most comfortable of the two, by all means, but I am afraid I will need to buy another one to finish the treatment. At these prices, they do open a hole in your pocket!
Wait to see if they go on sale after xmas... in the meantime, find yourself a physical therapist and start foot and leg massages in addition to toe exercises. The massages are really helpful.

i had the swede-o splint for two nights and my foot felt alot better from plantar fasciitis. the downsides are that u have to order a size smaller, which i did
and it was still too big on my foot. the biggest gripe i have is that the velcro staps used to hold it to my foot started to remove the stiching on the straps themselves. After two nights i knew if i kept using it that the stiches would come apart and it would become useless, i returned it and got a full refund.

I love this item - only caveat is another reviewer mentioned it runs large and I didn't listen. It's way to big for my foot. I should've gone for the smaller one, but instead I tried to play it safe and go with the sizing provided in the description. Still, it works GREAT. Helps alleviate the pain right away! The velcro is wider than the strap it attaches to, snags and scratches every time I wear it. Typically comes loose throughout the night. Doesn't really fit tight enough to hold foot in place. Center strap is oddly placed doesn't really hold foot in. I do notice some mild relief after wearing it but I think a better fitting, more elevating splint would do a better job. I like this splint a lot. I bought one that was two sizes small according to their size chart and it fits well. It doesn't give a major stretch however it's just enough to keep the morning foot pain away. It took a while but I now find it comfortable to sleep in. The splint is well padded, and I usually wear sweat pants to give extra padding around my ankles. The ankles are the only area I've noticed that can get sore if the splint rubs it the wrong way.
I would give it the top rating if not for one construction flaw. The velcro that holds the foot in place wears out incredibly fast. The velcro is only on the underside of the strap, so it attaches directly to a non-velcro portion of the splint. During the first few days the velcro was very strong, however it kept ripping up little pieces of the splint fabric until now it hardly stays put at all.
I purchased some thin velcro straps that I think are usually used to wrap computer cables and placed them around the weak velcro splint straps. It looks odd but it does keep my foot in place.
Overall I would recommend this splint just keep in mind that the velcro will wear out on you relatively quickly.
