I ordered this splint as I had recently had surgery and my doctor wanted my ankle held in a 90 degree position overnight. Sleeping with the CAM walker on was pretty uncomfortable after the first couple of weeks so I looked for something else. This splint was great- far more comfortable and lighter weight than the CAM walker and did a pretty decent job of maintaining my foot/ankle position. Also much cooler for all night long. I am a Physical Therapist- so am pretty picky about positioning- and this splint did well. My only criticism is that the ankle strap would do an even better job if it was anchored at the angle of the heel, so that it went across the front of the ankle instead of around the lowest part of the leg. I did an extensive amount of looking and found that none of the splints offered this option. I just know from working with my own patients that this difference in strap placement improves the foot/heel position. This splint also comes with a small wedge to increase the amount of dorsiflexion- which was great- and the wedge fits underneath the soft lining so you hardly notice it is there. I agree with the other reviewers- order a size smaller than you would normally think. According to the size charts I should have ordered a medium- I ordered a small and was very glad I did- the medium would have been much too large. Overall very good product and completely worth the money.

The Swede-O Deluxe Padded Night Splint is designed to provide relief during the night from the pain and discomfort of plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis. Swede-O Deluxe Padded Night Splint allows the patient to apply a consistent 90 degree angle stretch to the plantar fasciitis by holding the foot in a gentle dorsiflexion. A removable foam wedge insert is included for an additional 5 degree stretch on the plantar fascia. Designed to be worn during sleep or rest to help relieve pain from plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis. The soft gray padded cover provides patient comfort and protection against skin irritation. May be used on either foot. Gray in color.
Sized according to shoe size as follows:
  • Small for Mens shoe sizes 5-6 & Womens 4-6 ½
  • Medium for Mens shoe sizes 6 ½-7 ½ & Womens 7-8
  • Large for Mens shoe sizes 8-9 1/2 & Womens 8 1/2-10
  • X-Large for Mens shoe sizes 10-12 1/2 & Womens 10 1/2-12
  • XX-Large for Mens shoe sizes 13+ and Womens 12 1/2+.
