I have been using the Sweat Gutr for about 2 years and I have been very pleased with it. I mountain bike several times a week and most of my riding is uphill (there is very little that is flat and the downhill is much faster). The uphill riding really works up a sweat, but the Sweat Gutr has worked very well at keeping sweat out of my eyes. I use it every ride.
The product is very easy to use. Once you have it adjusted to fit your head (this is quick and easy), it does not need any further adjustment. This means it is fast and easy to put on at the start of a ride or after a break. I don't like losing time to an unending series of equipment adjustments that some people seem to need, so the Gutr helps avoid this. Once on, I forget its there until the end of the ride.
It is also nice when I am done riding. Take it off and you're done. I don't worry about it developing a strong "aroma" like a jersey or gloves because it does not absorb any sweat at all. If you have ridden in hot weather, you know that you can wring a lot of water out of a jersey or pair of gloves after a long ride, but there is not a drop on the Gutr. This means it is always ready to go, not stuck in the washing machine or sink. It also means that you don't need a huge collection to have one for each day of the week. The low maintenance requirement is a big plus for me.
The trick is to position is low over the eyebrows. This puts it below the front headband of the helmet. The rear should be up a bit to keep the sides well above the ears for comfort and sunglass use.
By the way, I use in the winter too. I can still overheat while riding uphill with a jacket on. When it rains, the Gutr keeps the water from running off my head onto my face. I still get rain directly on my face, but it seems to be a lot less.
It is not quite perfect. I still sweat on my face below the Gutr and this can drip into my eyes, but this only happens on very hot days when it is about 100 degrees. I think the biggest recommendation is that I use it every ride and make sure is with the critical gear (helmet, shoes and gloves).
