Customer Review: Simple, fast and efective
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

No need to spend more. This is the easiest system to mount a bike on a vehicle. My friends have other systems where the wheels of the bike are floating and they are a mess. With the swagman, it takes less than 20 seconds to put the bike on the rack and secure it. You dont need any cord or ropes to secure it. If your bike's wheels are in position, you only have to push down the lock and presto!. You only need to set up the distance between the wheel mounts for your bike the first time. I set it up for my wife's bike and mine. It is a little bit heavy, but considering that you can fold it and you'll never have to lift it higher than 2 feet, it is great. I took it out of the box and in 15 minutes it was mounted and working on my truck. After using it, it takes less than a minute to fold it and disconect it from my truck, with no tools. Same time for reconect it. It will NEVER scratch my truck's paint and with some 15 years worth of experience towing motorcycles, this system is everything you may need for your bicycle.

Customer Review: Best rack!
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

The Swagman XC Cross-Country 2-Bike Hitch Mount Rack assembles quickly and is even faster to install! It is far superior to the type that fasten to your trunk via straps and hooks since you simply slide the universal foot into your hitch receiver and secure with the bolt. No waggle or sway at all. Also, Swagman has the BEST system I've seen with the upright ratchet arms. I can QUICKLY and SECURELY lock (even with a combination lock if desired) the bike into the rack and not feel that I have use any other straps or cables to hold it in place. With this system you won't worry about scatching up the finish of your expensive carbon bike either. The fold-down center post allows me easy access to the hatch on my SUV as well. All parts are well packaged and painted and all pins (to lock up/down the folding arms) are secured with rings and cables... you can't loose them! This rack is a sure winner and well worth the few dollars it costs!

Customer Review: Excellent Product - Works as expected
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I've used my Swagman probably 6 times now and so far it has been great. For the price I don't think you can beat it. It's great since it can hold a V-Frame or regular frame, and do both at the same time. Can also be adjusted easily for different wheelbase frames.
It took me a while to realize the ratcheting mechanism can be locked to prevent theft by buying a padlock that will fit into the hole next to the ratchet-release. The first few times I went out I was using a bike lock to lock my bike to the rack, then had an "ah ha!" moment.
Highly recommend a hitch lock as well. I went with a Masterlock I also got on Amazon after reading a few reviews. It was under $20.
I don't seem to have the wobble some people have complained about, or it just doesnt bother me. They do sell a stabilizer but I don't think it's necessary.
I use mine on the back of a Dodge Durango.
Overall a great rack for the money.

Customer Review: very pleased
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I had seen these racks on the freeways around Los Angeles and they had caught my eye. We have been looking for a suitable rack for the family for some time now. I bought the rack on the strength of the ratings, and I was not disappointed. The rack arrived today and promptly (3 days via super saver from Amazon). Assembly was instinctive and took about 20 minutes to unpack and assemble.

The rack fit snugly into the hitch and carried the two adult mountain bikes well. We only drove on freeways and paved roads, but the rack held firmly.

I now understand what the previous poster explained. If you are going to leave the rack on while you are away from the car you should install a hitch lock.

Overall a great rack at an outstanding price. I will make a few more trips with the mountain bike however before I trust it with my road bike.

Customer Review: Good Solid Rack
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

After reading most of the reviews I ordered this rack and I can say they it's a good solid rack and well worth the money. I came with a 2" steel adapter already mounted with screws but it can be removed so it will fit the smaller receiver. The locking bolt for the receiver is very easy to install and remove and a 3/4" wrench is all that's needed to tighten it up so there is no play where it goes into the receiver hitch. The paint job looks OK but I'm sure that in the future after some use it will have to be redone. The bikes are good and solid when they are in the rack but because it will spend most of it's time mounted to our 5th wheel trailer and we can't see the bikes I will use a strap to make sure they will stay in place. To lock the rack and bikes I'm running my 5ft bike lock around the bikes and through the receivers chain mount so both of them are secure.
