This trunk mounted to my bike rack, no problems. It stores all of my books for school, and when I take them out, my helmet fits with room to spare. I haven't had any water get in, even in the western Washington rainy season.
I have slammed it on the back of my hand a few times, but I think that's a human defect not a product defect.

This item fits my needs perfectly; the price was good, as I found similar items locally for almost twice the price. It was difficult to install, not because of any defect with this item, but because my bike rack was not really suited for it. A totally flat rack with no spring is the best. Many bags and packs for bicycles are clumsy to use, have limited capacity, and offer no security. This hardshell locking case is convenient, weatherproof, has no zippers to jam, holds more that most soft packs, and provides a degree of theft-protection. I put it on the back of my Spooky Tooth Motorized Bicycle. The stickers peel off making it straight black. Easy to mount, even with limited space on my rack due to a seat extension for taller riders.
